Good evening grads,

We hope this message finds you all well. As you know the School District has hired a production company to assist the school in the creation and production of a “Virtual” Graduation Ceremony.

So what exactly is a virtual grad?

It will include most of the elements that are contained in a live ceremony. Individual and small group elements of the ceremony will be recorded and then will be pulled together to replicate a live production.

Your Valedictorian and Virtual Hosts are announced in the Grad 2020 “How to in a Pandemic” Video, linked here. This production will explain how to sign up for a time to be filmed crossing the stage, and you will have a chance to take some photos with your family in your formal wear.

We are committed to providing you with the closest thing to a real ceremony that we can, but production timelines are tight so deadlines will be strictly followed.

What do we need from you to make this happen?

You will need to stay on top of your school email and Google Classroom updates to work within the timelines provided.

You will need to book an appointment to cross the stage at Claremont on the following dates:

            Tuesday, May 26                   12:00 – 5:00pm

            Wednesday, May 27              12:00 – 5:00pm

            Thursday, May 28                     2:00 – 5:00pm

We will be taking 6 appointments every 20 minutes (which will allow you to book with friends, if you so choose). As expected, social distancing guidelines will still be in effect.  In order to keep things flowing, you must arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled time.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate late arrivals and you will need to reschedule.

Please complete the attached Google Form to secure your timeslot.  We suggest completing this form as soon as possible as times will book up quickly.

Here are some helpful hints:

  • You will need to come dressed in whatever you feel most comfortable in for your graduation ceremony. This can be formal, semi-formal, regalia, traditional customary clothing, or simply your favourite outfit.
  • You will need to arrive on time (or up to 10 minutes early)
  • In order to comply with safety protocols, detailed instructions are provided in our Grad 2020 “How to in a Pandemic” Video.

We know that if we all work together, we can produce an event that will not only be memorable, but will provide you with a keepsake that can be shared at future reunions.

We look forward to seeing you all next week.
