Spartan Scrum Fest

Once you are signed up for entry to our tournament, please complete the following forms prior to the tournament deadlines:

Coaches Phil Ohl and Matt Belvedere would like to invite and welcome you to the 9th annual Scrum Fest rugby weekend.  We are both very proud of what this unique event has become and we think you'll find it to be an organized, high quality experience for your coaches and players.  Rugby is unlike any other game and there are few places better than Victoria to gain positive and memorable rugby experiences.

In the past we've had many improvements and slight changes to the tournament grounds and itinerary.

The Comfort Inn is a very quick 10-minute drive from the tournament fields.  The hotel is offering free internet and parking as well as breakfast.  It is also located adjacent to Mayfair Mall featuring a food court and casual to high end shopping.  Please identify yourself as a Scrum Fest participant to receive the best possible rates and a reserved block of rooms.

Harbour Towers is a very simple 15-20 minute drive from the tournament fields and it's a 5-minute walk to the heart of downtown Victoria. There is also a Thrifty Foods grocery store (2-minute drive/10-minute walk) just up from the hotel. Please identify yourself as a Scrum Fest participant to receive the best possible rates and a reserved block of rooms.

Wilson's is our official tournament transportation provider. They offer a variety of transportation services (charter buses, bus and van rentals, ferry/airport drop-off and pick-up, etc.). They have provided quality service to past tournament participants and are awaiting your call. Please identify yourself as a Scrum Fest participant to receive the best possible rates.

Medical emergencies are the responsibility of the team and coach of the afflicted player.

There are trainers on site for all game times. They can be found under the RED tent near the concession. They are students in training from a local college and therefore not certified to deal with serious or life-threatening medical issues.

If a serious medical issue arises the trainers will do their best to monitor and assess the situation. However, coaches should contact a medical professional immediately if deemed appropriate.

As students in a sports medicine program the trainers are able to apply tape before games. Teams/players are expected to supply the tape for ears, thighs, ankles, etc.
