MEETING AT LUNCH TODAY
Summit at the Pier – Meeting Today
On October 1st & 2nd, 500 youth will gather for two days of future-proofing sessions at Ogden Point. These two action-packed days will feature world-class speakers, inspirational entertainment, and unique idea-generating methods to draw out the most interesting conversations and ideas from youth. There will be 50 inspiring facilitators, policy makers, business owners, educators, entertainers and others to guide students and act as catalysts for stronger communities . If you are interested attending Summit at the Pier, Claremont might be able to support you. Please attend a meeting TODAY at lunch in room 200 (Ms. Paas's room).
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Student Parking
Reminder to all students who are driving cars to school: all cars must be registered if you are parking in the student parking lot. Please come to the office to pick up your registration form. Students are NOT permitted to park in the staff parking lot at any time. If the student lot is full, you MUST park on the street.
'Claremont Reads' is Back
Come into the Learning Commons and answer the question "What did you read over the summer?" You will be entered to win our prize draw at the end of September.
Blood Drive
The first blood drive of the year is on October 3. Sign up is in room 136 with Ms Chapman all this week at lunch time. Donors must be 17yrs old by Oct 3. Let's roll up our sleeves, Claremont!

Acadia University Visit
A representative from Nova Scotia's Acadia University will be at Claremont this THURSDAY, Sept. 22nd, at 3:25 pm. in the Student Lounge. If you've thought about attending university on the East Coast, stop by the Student Lounge after school on Thursday to find out more about Acadia and the programs offered.
Canadian Universities Event – Note Time Change
A Canadian Universities Event is being hosted by Oak Bay Secondary School next TUESDAY, Sept. 27th. Representatives from universities from across Canada will be in attendance to showcase their programs. There is a limited number of spaces available for grade 11 & 12 students from Claremont who would like to attend. School bus transportation will be provided, leaving Claremont at 10:00 a.m. and returning at 12:00 noon. Sign-up for students wishing to attend will be on a first come, first served basis. Sign up information and field trip consent forms are in the Career Centre.
Fire/Rescue Cadet Camp
Any students aged 16-18 years old interested in participating the March 2017 Fire/Rescue Cadet Camp on Pender Island, please see Mr. Arsenault as soon as possible in the Career Centre.
