An IPod and a wallet were found.  Please come to the office to claim them.

UNICEF
Please help children worldwide by donating spare change from now until Halloween into the UNICEF boxes found in all your teachers' classrooms. Every little bit can add up to a lot. Last year we raised $300 in change!

Grade 9's – Take Our Kids To Work Day
Next WEDNESDAY, November 2nd is Take Our Kids to Work Day!  This day is an opportunity for Grade 9 students to go to work with a parent, relative, friend or neighbour to observe a day in their work place.  Mr. Arsenault will be distributing information and consent forms to all block 1 grade 9 classes. If you miss getting one of these forms, you can pick one up from the Career Centre!

Bus Passes
If you have registered to ride the school bus, please come to the office to pick up your new bus pass.

School Photos
There are school photos and student I.D. cards in the office for many students, waiting to be picked up.

AP Courses Second Semester
For students who are taking AP courses in second semester, there are important meetings this week.  Each meeting will be at lunchtime in computer lab 225:

Post Secondary Institutions of BC Event
This year's Post Secondary Institutions of BC Event will be hosted by Parkland Secondary School this THURSDAY night, October 27th, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.  This will be a mini-fair format with recruiters and advisors on hand to present their university or college information.  This event ifs free; all parents & students are welcome.

Halloween Week: Oct 24-31

Halloween week continues!
TUESDAY – Halloween Lip Sync at lunch in the theatre.  Come by to watch the talent!
WEDNESDAY – Mummy Wrap Contest at lunch in the lounge.  Come to participate or come to watch!
THURSDAY   – Movie at lunch in the theatre (Halloween Town).
FRIDAY  – Funky Hat Day.  Get creative!
MONDAY 31st – Halloween costume contest at lunch in the gym.

Cross Country Team Meeting TODAY
Cross-Country Team: if you are competing at Islands on Wednesday, please go to an important meeting TODAY at the beginning of lunch in Mr. Nelson's room.

CAREER CENTRE
OSEF Student Exchanges to Europe

Live and go to school in Europe!  Students interested in learning more about a reciprocal exchange to France, Belgium or Spain are invited to attend an OSEF general information meeting TONIGHT from 6:30 -8:00 pm at Claremont room 325.  Come join us to find out all about 3-month school and 1-month summer exchange programs. Information booklets and application forms will be available!

Ryerson University Visit
Mark your calendars and set your alarms for next TUESDAY, November 1st, if you are interested in learning more about Ryerson University!  A representative will be at Claremont bright and early at 8:30 a.m. in the Student Lounge.  Check it out!

Fall SAT Prep Courses
If you are interested in applying to an American university, it is likely that you will need to write a standardized test, and you can choose to write either/both the SAT or ACT.  An SAT prep course will be offered this fall at St. Michael's University School.  These are comprehensive courses that give students a solid overview of all the content, teach exclusive strategies to tackle each section, and ensure students are confident and well-prepared with extensive in-class practice.  For more information, please visit the Career Centre.

Vancouver Trip

The Vancouver day trip for International students is November 23rd.  Get your permission form from Brenda's door.  Completed packages are due on Wednesday, November 9th.
