MEETING AT LUNCH TODAY
Peer Tutors

For all Peer Tutors: there will be an important meeting TODAY at the start of lunch in the Learning Commons. New members are welcome!

Peer Tutoring
If you are a student in need of some extra support with your academic classes, please contact Ms. Giese in the counselling office for Peer Tutor options.

IGS 12
All students registered for IGS12 in the 2nd semester: please attend an important meeting on FRIDAY at lunch in room 264.

Europe Trip 2017
All students going to Europe in April please meet on THURSDAY at lunch in room 327.  If you are still interested, please attend the meeting as there are only 2 spots left.

UNICEF
Please help children worldwide by donating spare change from now until Halloween into the UNICEF boxes found in all your teachers' classrooms. Every little bit can add up to a lot. Last year we raised $300 in change!

Grade 9's – Take Our Kids To Work Day
Next WEDNESDAY, November 2nd is Take Our Kids to Work Day!  This day is an opportunity for Grade 9 students to go to work with a parent, relative, friend or neighbour to observe a day in their work place.  Mr. Arsenault will be distributing information and consent forms to all block 1 grade 9 classes. If you miss getting one of these forms, you can pick one up from the Career Centre!

Breakfast Club
Prices have been dropped.  Now you can have a bagel, spreads, hot drinks or juice, each for $.25.  TUESDAY and THURSDAY mornings starting at 8:15.  Come and get it!

Bus Passes
If you have registered to ride the school bus, please come to the office to pick up your new bus pass.

School Photos
There are school photos and student I.D. cards in the office for many students.  Please come to pick them up.

Post Secondary Institutions of BC Event
This year's Post Secondary Institutions of BC Event will be hosted by Parkland Secondary School TOMORROW night (Thursday) 6:00 to 7:30 pm.  This will be a mini-fair format with recruiters and advisors on hand to present their university or college information.  This event is free; all parents & students welcome.

For students who are taking AP Biology in second semester, there is an important meeting on THURSDAY at lunch in computer lab 225:

Halloween Week: Oct 24-31

Halloween week continues!
TODAY – Come by the student lounge at lunch to participate or watch the Mummy Wrap Contest!
THURSDAY   – Movie at lunch in the theatre (Halloween Town).
FRIDAY  – Funky Hat Day.  Get creative!
MONDAY 31st – Halloween costume contest at lunch in the gym.  Note:  School Policy this year is that there will be NO CLOWN COSTUMES PERMITTED due to recent events in the news of clown-related threats of violence.

ATHLETICS
Senior Girls Volleyball Results
The senior girls volleyball team won all their matches last night at the city championships.  The team finished first in their pool and will host the semi-finals and finals next TUESDAY night in the big gym.

CAREER CENTRE
Ryerson University Visit
Mark your calendars and set your alarms for next TUESDAY, November 1st, if you are interested in learning more about Ryerson University!  A representative will be at Claremont bright and early at 8:30 a.m. in the Student Lounge.  Check it out!

UVic Visit
Mark your calendars for the University of Victoria visit at Claremont  on WEDNESDAY, November 2nd, at 2:55 pm in the Learning Commons.  A representative will be here to present information about programs and admissions.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Vancouver Trip

The Vancouver day trip for International students is November 23rd.  Get your permission form from Brenda's door.  Completed packages are due on Wednesday, November 9th.
