GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
IGS 12

All IGS 12 students: you need to register for the dual credit Geo100 course for second semester.  This FRIDAY at lunch, go to the computer lab in room 225 to register.  Any other students wanting to take this exciting course, see Mr Gardner in room 327 as soon as possible.

Vimy Ridge Trip
All students going to Vimy Ridge in April: please attend a meeting on THURSDAY at lunch in room 327.

Friday Night Lights
It's back!  This FRIDAY, Nov. 25th, Claremont will once again host a Friday Night Lights Field Lacrosse game at UVic on the artificial turf at 7:30pm. This annual tradition will see our Senior Boys lacrosse team take on the Washington state powerhouse Mercer Island.  Claremont, we want you to come down and cheer on our team and raise some money for KidsSport, a charity that allows underprivileged children to participate in organized sports. Tickets are $2 in advance and $5 at the door.  Tickets are on sale each day at lunch at the Theatre Box Office in the main hall. Come show your spirit!  The Claremont dancers will be there, we'll have a concession and our mascot will be there to raise spirits!  Let's show the team our Spartan Pride and come out next Friday night!

Bus Cards
A large number of new bus cards have arrived.  If you have been waiting for your bus card, please come to the office.

Parent-Teacher Conferences – Nov 24th
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held at Claremont on THURSDAY Nov. 24th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. To book appointments on-line, use the link on the front page of the school website.  Conferences fill up fast, so book early. The scheduling program closes on Nov. 24th  at 10:00 am, and we are not able to book any appointments after that time.

Peer Tutoring
Just a reminder that we have drop-in Peer Tutoring on TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS at lunch in Math Room 134. Please check in within the first 10 minutes of lunch to receive help.

Fundraiser for Sr Boys Volleyball
Colourful Claremont Volleyball Stickers are here and for sale!  The Sr. Boys Volleyball Team is selling these stickers for an affordable $2 to help raise funds to go to BC's.  If you would like to purchase a sticker, see Mr. Ryan at lunch, before or after school in the PE office.

Junior Girl's 'B' Team Basketball
Jr Girl's 'B' bball – Practice is on THURSDAY, Nov. 24 after school at 2:35 (early closure day). Please see Mrs. Taylor or Mrs. Harris  if you cannot be there.

Grad Transition
Class of 2017: we have received 31 completed Grad Transitions out of a possible 300+ from you.  Don't forget!  Grad Transition is a GRAD REQUIREMENT and includes: 30-Hour Work/Volunteer Experience, Daily Physical Activity Log and a Grad Interview.  GT tracking forms are available from the Career Centre. Return the completed forms as soon as possible to complete your Grad Transition.

New Career Centre
If you don't already know, the Career Centre is now up and running at its new location in the old centre computer lab room 235!  Stop by to check out the latest job and volunteer postings, and information on all the post secondary career path possibilities!  See Mr. Arsenault to find out more about trade and apprenticeship options and dual credit program opportunities.

Job Opportunity
A local family is looking to hire a French-speaking student for babysitting 1 or 2 times per week for approx. 2 hours after school. Please see Mrs. Rhodes in the Career Centre for contact information.  Merci!

Volunteer Opportunity
Sidney's Saint Paul’s Church Annual Advent Festival, November 25, 5:00 to 8:00 pm.  Volunteers are needed to help with: support preparing and serving international foods, set up and clean up.  Learn to use a commercial dishwasher.  Visit the Career Centre for more information.
Bridge Christmas Dinner – Host and serve at this buffet dinner for over 100 people at the Shoal Centre, in Sidney, on Wednesday, December 7, 5:30 – 9:30 pm.   This is an opportunity to spread the holiday spirit and gain experience in hosting and serving.  See Mrs. Rhodes in the Career Centre for more information.

GRAD 2017
Dry Grad Fundraiser – Poinsettias, Wreaths & Planters

The Claremont Dry Grad is selling beautiful holiday poinsettias, wreaths, and table top planters starting at only $15.  Watch for forms coming home with report cards, but even better, you can order easily online right now at claremontdrygrad.growingsmilesfundraising.com.  Orders must be in this Friday Nov. 25Th, if you are paying by cheque, and by Sunday Nov. 27Th if you are paying on line!"
