Report Cards & Next Year's Courses
There will be a home room on TUESDAY May 2nd in the last part of block 2. Report Cards and verifications of course selections for next year will be handed out. If you are requesting changes to the course selections, the deadline is FRIDAY May 5th to submit course change request forms.
Yearbook – Is Your Photo Correct?
This is your chance to check that you are in the yearbook and your name and picture are correct. There will be a yearbook representative in the student lounge (at Mr Pereira's helpdesk) TODAY only at lunch.
Times Colonist 10k
Good luck to all staff and students representing Claremont in the TC10K this Sunday. Make sure you have made arrangements with Mr. Nelson to pick up your t-shirt and race number prior to the race. Go Spartans!
Are you 18? You Can VOTE
Claremont is leading the province's first high school voting drive. There's over a hundred students in this school who are eligible to vote on May 9th. So stand up for yourself and make sure your voice gets heard. We'll help you get your voting i.d. organized and we'll bus you to the polling site. Stellys and Parklands are jumping on board with this too, so let's get out there, Claremont, and vote!! Contact Emily Lowan or come to the office for more information.
Spring Music Concert
Everyone is welcome to the Spring Music Concert, featuring the Claremont Instrumental, Symphonic and Concert Bands. Come see the musical talents of our students. Special guests: Greater Victoria Senior Concert Band. The concert is TONIGHT @ 7pm in the Ridge Theatre. Admission by donation.
10,000 Tonight
10,000 tonight is happening next TUESDAY May 2nd from 6-8pm. This event will see Claremont students, staff and families hopefully collect 10,000 non-perishable food items for local food banks in one night! IF YOU CAN PARTICIPATE PLEASE COME AND SIGN UP ANY DAY AT LUNCH THIS WEEK AT THE THEATRE BOX OFFICE SO WE HAVE A SENSE OF HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE VOLUNTEERING. Let's show our community we care! Musical Theatre Presents “Cinderella”
Claremont's Musical Theatre program presents Rogers and Hammerstein's “Cinderella”. Tickets are now on sale through Mrs. Marshall in the accounting office; call 250-658-6672. 7pm shows run May 10-13 and May 17-20. Additional 2pm matinees on May 13 & May 20. $15 Adults / $12.50 for Students/Seniors / $10 for Children 12 and under. Open seating. Plan early; this show is sure to sell out!!
Book Drive
The book drive continues from now until June 15th and is coordinated by the Victoria City Police Youth Council/Youth for Change and Inclusion. All books will help build a library for a downtown outreach program to support people struggling with homelessness. Books will ideally be suitable for ages 18-30. They can be dropped off at the school office. Questions can be directed to Nathan at: ycilibrarian@gmail.com
Blood Drive
Our next Blood Drive is in May and there are appointments available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school. Donors must be 17 years or older. See Ms Chapman in room 136 to sign up.

Claremont's Got Talent has been extended for one more day! Come to the theatre TODAY at lunch to see more performances, then MONDAY at lunch will be the BEST OF “Claremont's Got Talent” and final judging. Come by and cheer on the contestants each day!

Camp Ignite for Young Women
Camp Ignite Mentorship Program, with the Saanich Fire Department, is open to girls in grades 11 & 12 – this is a 4-day camp that introduces girls to the world of firefighting. More information and applications are available from the Career Centre.
Training – Gardening Basics
Do you want to take advantage of outside gardening job opportunities this summer? Don't really know much about gardening or yard maintenance? Consider taking the FREE Gardening Basics course offered Saturdays May 6 – May 27 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Hands-on learning with master gardeners! Find out more from the Career Centre!

GRAD 2017
Parent/Guardian Volunteers needed at Dry Grad
Many hands are needed to make Dry Grad 2017 a fun and memorable night for our Grads! There are many different jobs to sign up for; Decorating, Security, Casino, Clothing Collection, Clothing Transfer, Coat Check, Supervision, Carnival Game Set-up (muscles!), Carnival Game Assistants, Prize Table, and lots for Clean Up. Sign up online by going to Claremont's website, click on Parents, then All Night Dry Grad, then Volunteers, then Volunteer Sign Up. It's lots of fun!
