GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tonight: “Just Go With It”

The re-emerged Claremont Improv Team has been rehearsing and competing in Canadian Improv Games all year and are excited to put on one final show for you. The showcase will include students from Esquimalt High and Mount Douglas Secondary and will feature comedic characters and skits on stage created from scratch based on audience suggestion. If you want those last laughs before exams hit, come see the final improv show TONIGHT at 7pm here at Claremont! Tickets by donation.

Science & Math Help
For anyone needing extra Science or Math assistance, tutorial help is now available TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS after school, and before school on WEDNESDAYS (starting at 8am) in Room 134.   

Studio 63 Visit to Claremont
This TUESDAY, May 30th, FREE hair styling is being offered by our school district's very own Studio 63 Hairdressing Program!   Students and instructors will be set up in the student lounge at lunch to smooth, curl or even braid your hair in style for FREE!!!  Please stop by to support and find out more about Studio 63!

Morning Coffee - IGS 12 Fundraiser
The IGS 12 class is brewing up coffee at the “Global Cafe” in room 264 each morning from 7:30-9:00.  Delicious Level Ground espresso drinks and drip coffee are available, including flavour shots!  Espresso/Lattes $2.50 / Drip $1.50. Cash only please.

Book Drive
Thank you for the great donations so far! The book drive continues from now until June 15th and is coordinated by the Victoria City Police Youth Council/Youth for Change and Inclusion. All books will help build a library for a downtown outreach program to support people struggling with homelessness.  Books will ideally be suitable for ages 18-30.  They can be dropped off  at the school office.   Questions can be directed to Nathan at: ycilibrarian@gmail.com

STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Beach Bash DANCE

Yes, you heard right!  Student govt is hosting a dance next week on THURSDAY,  June 1st in the student lounge with a professional dj from 7:00-9:30pm and we want YOU to come and dance the night away with your friends!  Tickets are on sale every day at lunch at the theatre box office and are $5 for early birds. Then they will be $7 for the last two days of sales.

Key Club Fundraiser

Do you want a chance to win a cash prize of $1500? Then come support Key Club in the lounge TODAY to buy raffle tickets. Tickets are $5 each and proceeds go to the Kiwanis Children's Cancer Program (including BC Children's Hospital). The winner will be announced on August 15 and will be contacted.

Job Opportunities

The Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea in Sidney, is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their Visitor Experience team!  This person will be the first point of contact for guests who visit the Centre and will provide exceptional customer service at our retail and admissions desk.  Applications are due TODAY!  Find out more about this position and how to apply from the Career Centre.

Howard Johnson Hotel and Suites (Elk Lake Drive) is hiring for full-time summer Room Attendant positions!  Training will be provided. $14.00/hour. The Old Spaghetti Factory at 703 Douglas Street in downtown Victoria is looking for kitchen and dish washing help!   Flexible hours and lots of shifts available!  Please apply in person with your resume.

Lochmar Farm on West Saanich Road looking for help!  Two students needed for outside work doing weeding and landscape maintenance. Work days are flexible, but would need 15-20 hours a week from each student. Work could continue on during the summer and potentially expand work hours. $13 per hour.  Please visit the Career Centre for contact info.

Magic Booth at the Sidney Market is looking for help from May 25 to Sept 3, 4:30 to 8:30 pm.  Demonstrate toys such as bubble blowers, magic worm & fidget spinners!  4 hours per week, $15.00 per hour.  Get more information from the Career Centre.

Training
Free professional face painting workshop. Saturday May 27 - 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. Last chance to sign up!!
Free retail training.  There are openings at both locations.  Brentwood Bay: June 4th to June 25th. Sidney: July 9 to July 30. This certificate program prepares you for first time work experiences in retail and many other work environments.  Get more information from the Career Centre.

Grad Ceremony

Grads, have you ordered your tickets from UVic yet?  They are booking up quickly.

All Night Dry Grad
Reminder that the Dry Grad tickets ($75) need to be purchased online by going to Eventbrite.ca and searching for Claremont Dry Grad 2017.  We have an amazing all-night event planned for our Grads!  Information about the event can be found on the school website by clicking 'Parents' and then 'All Night Dry Grad'.  Details were in your Grad Package as well.  If you have any questions, please email claremontdrygrad@gmail.com

Parent/Guardian Volunteers needed at Dry Grad
We are in need of a family member with First Aid experience or Nurses/Doctors who would be willing to be at our event from 11pm - 5am, or possibly 2 people to split that shift in half.  If you are willing and able, please email claremontdrygrad@gmail.com.  Thank you!
