GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Trades Exploration Program
Reminder to ALL students - If you would like to learn more about a career in the TRADES, you should consider signing up for next year's TEX Program, run in partnership with Camosun College! Get a taste of Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical and Welding. Learn about earning a wage while working towards skilled trades certification. See Mr. Arsenault in the Career Centre to register for TEX 2017-2018.
Parent Pickup & Drop Off
Some of our neighbours are finding it difficult to get in and our of their own driveways during pickup times, so we are requesting that parents not tie up neighbouring streets or block driveways while waiting for students at the end of the day. We would also request that parents not use the Bus Loop for student pickup and drop off.
Clothing Drive
A group of PEP 9 students are holding a clothing drive this week. All clothing will be donated to Salvation Army, to help support the many programs they provide in the community. There is a clothing collection box in the front entrance of the school today until Friday. All types of clothing are welcome, but there is a seasonal need for warm weather clothing. Thank you for your support.
Science & Math Help
For anyone needing extra Science or Math assistance, tutorial help is now available TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS after school, and WEDNESDAYS before school (starting at 8am) in Room 134.
Morning Coffee - IGS 12 Fundraiser
The IGS 12 class is brewing up coffee at the “Global Cafe” in room 264 each morning from 7:30-9:00. Delicious Level Ground espresso drinks and drip coffee are available, including flavour shots! Espresso/Lattes $2.50 / Drip $1.50. Cash only please.
Book Drive
Thank you for the great donations so far! The book drive continues from now until June 15th and is coordinated by the Victoria City Police Youth Council/Youth for Change and Inclusion. All books will help build a library for a downtown outreach program to support people struggling with homelessness. Books will ideally be suitable for ages 18-30. They can be dropped off at the school office. Questions can be directed to Nathan at: ycilibrarian@gmail.com
STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Beach Bash DANCE - Cancelled
Unfortunately, the dance has been cancelled, as there just wasn't enough student interest. Thanks to those who helped promote the dance and to those who offered to volunteer!! We will try again next year, but choose a different time of the year. If you purchased a ticket, please see Mr Danyluk or Ms Chester to be reunbursed.

Key Club Fundraiser
Your chance to win a prize of $1500 has been extended! Come support Key Club in the lounge this week TODAY, THURSDAY and FRIDAY to buy raffle tickets. Tickets are $5 each and proceeds go to the Kiwanis Children's Cancer Program (including BC Children's Hospital). The winner will be announced on August 15 and will be contacted.

Lochmar Farm on West Saanich Road looking for help! Two students needed for outside work doing weeding and landscape maintenance. Work days are flexible, but would need 15-20 hours a week from each student. Work could continue on during the summer and potentially expand work hours. $13 per hour. Volunteer Opportunity
The Rotary Club of Sidney is looking for volunteers to help run various games at the Saanichton Fall Fair: August 31 - Sept. 4. Help with set up, running and take down of games such as Pin Ball, Fun Ball, Cork Gun and more! Get more information from the Career Centre!
