'One Match' Swabbing Event
Canadian Blood Services will be in the Learning Commons on MONDAY June 12 from 10am-1pm, registering students for the One Match Stem Cell National Registry.  No appointment is needed.  Very few restrictions and no travel restrictions.  A simple cheek swab is all it takes to be part of the registry. Must be 17yrs or older.  See Ms Chapman for more details or go to the Learning Commons on Monday.

Stem cells are immature cells that can develop into any cell present in the bloodstream: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and other blood components. Blood stem cells come from bone marrow, circulating (peripheral) blood or umbilical cord blood. People whose diseases inhibit their ability to produce these kinds of cells need a transplant of healthy stem cells from a donor.
