There is still a cell phone in the office that was found at the end of last week.  Please come to the office to claim it.

UNICEF Boxes
The Key Club has teamed up with UNICEF to help eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus - a deadly disease that steals the lives of 34,000 innocent babies and women each year. Please donate any change you may have into the small orange box sitting on your teacher's desk until Nov. 1st.  Thank you.

ScreamFest Tickets on Sale
Screamfest is TONIGHT and FRIDAY NIGHT (6:30-10:00pm) !!! Tickets are on sale at lunch in the lounge and theatre ticket booth.  Girls Bball players and Rugby guys will also have tickets to sell.  Tickets are $10. See Mr. Reisig if you have any questions.

Screamfest is an amazing Halloween event featuring a scary haunted walk, the famous Vortex Tunnel, lots of games and activities, music, food and prizes!  It will run two nights: THIS THURSDAY and FRIDAY

STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Halloweek at Claremont

Student Government is hosting Halloweek!
TODAY will be a pie-eating contest, in the lounge. 10 lucky students chosen from the crowd will get the chance to eat as much pumpkin pie as possible! There will be prizes!
FRIDAY will be a relaxed "Black-out" day, where students are asked to wear all black, with a Halloween movie playing in the theatre during lunch.
On MONDAY we will have pumpkin carving in the lounge at lunch, with the most creative pumpkins being displayed at the front of the school.
Finally, TUESDAY will showcase all the costumes in a Costume Parade in the big gym at lunch! Winners will be chosen by the audience! More prizes will be awarded!

ATHLETICS
Sr Boys Volleyball

The Sr Boys Volleyball team were undefeated last night, beating Victor Brodeur 25-0, 25-03.  In the second match the Sr. Boys beat district rivals, Stellys, 25-08, 25-06.  The Spartans played very composed and competitively.  It was quite a display of skill and precision.  All players contributed to the wins.

CAREER CENTRE
Post-Secondary Institutions of BC at Stelly's

Explore your post-secondary options at the PSIBC event at Stelly's Secondary School TONIGHT from 6:30-8:00 pm.  Representatives from BC Universities, Colleges and Institutes will be there.

House of Commons Page Program
Are you interested in studying in Ottawa? Working on Parliament Hill?  Making lasting friendships? Consider applying for the House of Commons Page Program!  Pages are first-year undergraduate students who work in the House of Commons for one year. Pages are paid $16,088 in 26 equal payments over a 12 month period + an additional $1200 at the end of the employment period.  The annual recruitment runs now through December. Find out more from the Career Centre.

Exploration in Technology (TEAC 105)
It's TEAC 105 (Explorations in Technology) registration time for the Feb -May 2018 course!  This dual-credit course, runs on Fridays from 3-6 pm, and provides current high school students with an introduction to careers and basic skills in 4 technology areas:
1) Computer Science,
2) Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology,
3) Civil Engineering Technology, and
4) Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Students will complete a hands-on project in each of the 4 areas as they explore potential career and post-secondary options.  Please see Mr. Arsenault in the Career Centre for application packages.

GRAD 2018
Grad Transition

A reminder to Grade 12s that Grad Transition completion is a grad requirement, and it is not too early to get it done!  Pick up your GT forms from the Career Centre and complete your GT before formal exit interviews have to be organized for you.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Vancouver Trip

There will be a Vancouver trip for International students on November 15th.  Please pick up consent forms from Brenda.

Peninsula Youth Health Clinic – New Hours

Important: Hours have changed - The Peninsula Youth Health Clinic is now open every Thursday from 5-7pm. Walk in's are welcome, but if you are interested in booking an appointment or would like more info, call the clinic at 250-656-4114.  Location: at the Ocean Pier Medical Clinic, (#207-2537 Beacon Avenue in Sidney)   This clinic offers completely free and confidential service in the areas of physical, sexual, and mental health for youth.  This Youth Clinic offers a judgement-free zone for all youth and is an LGBTQ safe space.
