GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Photo Retakes Are in the Office

The new student photo packages and I.D. cards have arrived.  If you had photos taken a few weeks ago, please come to the office to pick them up.

Math Contests
The next math contest takes place on Nov 22nd, but the registration deadline is TODAY.  This contest has two versions -- the CIMC is for grades 9/10 and the CSMC is for grades 11/12.  Please sign up on the board across from room 133, or talk to Mr. Skanks if you are interested in writing this contest. 

PE Prize Winners
The winning PE 9 team from Mr. Ryan's block 4 class is..."Team Armaan"!  All members of this team and the less fortunate captains please claim your pizza lunch from Mr. Ryan in the PE office TODAY at the beginning of lunch.

Lost
A grey iPhone 6 has been lost in the school.  If you have found it, please help out your fellow student and bring it to the office.

Junior Boys Soccer

The Junior Boys soccer team fought a hard battle on Wednesday against Oak Bay, beating them 2-1 which secured Claremont a spot in the Islands next week up in Comox & Campbell River. Go Spartans!!

CAREER CENTRE
Job Opportunities

Strong students are needed to help move furniture this SATURDAY morning! There is a $50 payment for each student that can help.  Please see Mr. Arsenault.

The Children's Place at Uptown is looking for students 16 or older after who are looking for part-time work after school and on weekends. Come to the Career Centre for more information!

Apprenticeships and Trades Training
If you are interested in registering in an Apprenticeship program or for Trades Training at Camosun College, please see Mr. Arsenault in the Career Centre.

Canadian Armed Forces Open House
Are you interested in learning more about the Canadian Armed Forces?  Experience the C.A.F. interactive Open House - Saturday, November 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bay St. Armoury, 713 Bay St.
*Try the C.A.F. physical fitness test (minors require parental consent to try the fitness test).
*Experience the combat simulator.
*Try on military gear.
*Check out and try using military equipment.
*Sample military survival food.
*Talk to military members about their jobs with the Navy, Army, or Air Force.
*Ask recruiters about career and subsidized education opportunities.
  Visit the Career Centre for more information.

GRAD 2018
Grad Wear 2018 – On Sale Now

Class of 2018:  Pick up your Grad Wear order form from the counter outside the main office. Order forms are due no later than TUESDAY November 7th. Examples of the clothing are on the Grad Page of the Claremont website. All payments must go through Mrs. Marshall in the Accounting Office. Clothing is expected to arrive by the end of November.

Grad Transition
A reminder to Grade 12s that Grad Transition completion is a grad requirement, and it is not too early to get it done!  Pick up your GT forms from the Career Centre and complete your GT before formal exit interviews have to be organized for you.

Peninsula Youth Health Clinic – New Hours

Important: Hours have changed - The Peninsula Youth Health Clinic is now open every Thursday from 5-7pm. Walk in's are welcome, but if you are interested in booking an appointment or would like more info, call the clinic at 250-656-4114.  Location: at the Ocean Pier Medical Clinic, (#207-2537 Beacon Avenue in Sidney)   This clinic offers completely free and confidential service in the areas of physical, sexual, and mental health for youth.  This Youth Clinic offers a judgement-free zone for all youth and is an LGBTQ safe space.
