Board Games

Everyone is welcome to come play board games on WEDNESDAYS at lunch, starting TOMORROW, in Room 215!  Bring your friends and join in on the fun! If you have any questions, please see Ms. Huber.

Claremont Lanyards
If you ordered a lanyard with your Claremont Clothing order in September, you can pick them up from Wendi Marshall in the Accounting office.

Photo Retakes Are in the Office

There are still many student photo packages and I.D. cards in the office, waiting to be picked up.

CLUBS
Free Hot Chocolate

TOMORROW (Wednesday), warm up with a FREE hot chocolate from the Key Club.  They'll be in the lounge before school from 8:30-9:00.  Bring your own mug!

ATHLETICS
Sr. Boys Volleyball

The Sr. Boys Volleyball team won their quarter final match at the Lower Islands last night at Royal Bay.  The seven player squad defeated Mt. Doug (25-22, 25-11).  Without four players that are starters, it was an adjustment for the Spartans but they pulled through.  The small quad plays Royal Bay at Oak Bay this WEDNESDAY in the semi-final followed by the medal matches.  Claremont has qualified for the Islands on Nov. 17/18 that will be hosted by Oak Bay.  Come out and support your team.  Go Spartans!

CAREER CENTRE
University Visit

Queen's University - Bader International Study Centre - will have a representative at Claremont this FRIDAY, November 10th at 2:48 pm  in the Student Lounge.  Stop by after school Friday to learn more.

Canadian Armed Forces Open House
Are you interested in learning more about the Canadian Armed Forces?  Experience the C.A.F. interactive Open House - Saturday, November 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bay St. Armoury, 713 Bay St.
*Try the C.A.F. physical fitness test (minors require parental consent to try the fitness test).
*Experience the combat simulator.
*Try on military gear.
*Check out and try using military equipment.
*Sample military survival food.
*Talk to military members about their jobs with the Navy, Army, or Air Force.
*Ask recruiters about career and subsidized education opportunities.
  Visit the Career Centre for more information.

GRAD 2018
All Night Dry Grad Committee

Parents of the 2018 grad class: the next Dry Grad Committee meeting is NEXT TUESDAY November 14th at 7:00pm in the Learning Commons. 

The 2018 Dry Grad Committee urgently needs to fill the following positions:
*Donations and Prizes Coordinator
*Security Coordinator

Grad Wear 2018 – Deadline is Today
Class of 2018:  Pick up your Grad Wear order form from the counter outside the main office. TODAY is the deadline for submitting order forms & payment to Mrs. Marshall in the Accounting Office.  Examples of the clothing are on the Grad Page of the Claremont website.  Clothing is expected to arrive by the end of November.

Grad Transition
A reminder to Grade 12s that Grad Transition completion is a grad requirement, and it is not too early to get it done!  Pick up your GT forms from the Career Centre and complete your GT before formal exit interviews have to be organized for you.

Peninsula Youth Health Clinic – New Hours

Important: Hours have changed - The Peninsula Youth Health Clinic is now open every Thursday from 5-7pm. Walk in's are welcome, but if you are interested in booking an appointment or would like more info, call the clinic at 250-656-4114.  Location: at the Ocean Pier Medical Clinic, (#207-2537 Beacon Avenue in Sidney)   This clinic offers completely free and confidential service in the areas of physical, sexual, and mental health for youth.  This Youth Clinic offers a judgement-free zone for all youth and is an LGBTQ safe space.
