Report Cards – April 23

Reports cards will be handed out in Home Room on MONDAY April 23 at 10:30; after picking up report cards, students will go straight to block 2.

Are you Interested in a Career in Interior Design?
If you are interested in a career in Interior Design, please some see Mr. Bussoli TODAY at lunch in Room 217  (or after school). There will be a guest speaker here on MONDAY that will be discussing the career opportunities in the Interior Design industry.

Learning Commons: Twitter Contest & Poetry Month
Want to win movie passes to see the latest Marvel Movie? All you have to do is follow the Learning Commons’ new Twitter account @SD63ClaremontLC to enter. Also, check out the newest graphic novels and create some book spine poetry for Poetry Month. See Ms. Wadsworth or Ms. Roy, or stay tuned to the Learning Commons Twitter for more information.

Dodgeball Intramurals – Captain’s Meeting Today
Dodgeball intramurals will be starting soon.  Sign-up list for teams is posted by the main gym door.  All grades, all genders are welcome!!  There will be a mandatory Captain’s meeting TODAY at lunch in the small gym.

April is RESPONSIBILITY month, and staff will be looking for students who exemplify the characteristics of this Core Value for nomination for April's RESPONSIBILITY lunch.  Good luck!

Talent Show

The Spring Talent Show continues TODAY and runs each lunch hour until the end of next week.  Come to the theatre to watch some great talent! Want VIP seats? Bring a non-perishable food can for the food drive and get your choice of seating in the theatre.

Track and Field

Great work to all the athletes who came out to track meet #3 last night. There were many first place finishes and even a personal best! Keep it up Spartans! These is a pactise TODAY after school with Mr. Dunlop.

GRAD 2018
District Scholarship Applications

Reminder that the deadline to hand in applications for District Scholarships is this TUESDAY April 24th.  They must be submitted by then, either to Mr. Cannon or dropped off at the office.

Dry Grad Planning 2018
The Dry Grad Planning Committee invites all parent/guardians of the 2018 Grad class to follow the Claremont Dry Grad Facebook page to keep informed on the planning of the All Night Dry Grad at UVic, Thursday June 28th.

Dry Grad Fundraiser – 50/50 Raffle Sales Deadline: May 3rd
The Parent After Grad Committee is having a 50/50 Raffle. Tickets are $5 each.   If grads or parents would like to sell tickets, they are distributed in books of 10 and can be picked up from Lisa Wergeland. Please contact her at ohmysoul@shaw.ca     Brenda Chan, PAC Chair, will draw the winning ticket on May 8th at the Dry Grad Committee meeting. We have a gaming license to sell $18,000 worth of tickets. Students 13 & older may sell and purchase tickets. Potential winnings are based solely on sales; one prize, half of the ticket sales. Good luck!

Rebels Cheerleading Tryouts

Have you ever thought about being a cheerleader?  Come to the Rebels Cheerleading Tryouts this week:
Thursday April 19 @ 6:30-8:30 pm and Saturday April 21 @ 11:00-1:00pm.  Location: Pacific Cheer Empire training facility, #210-314 Wale Road.

Road Hockey Charity Tournament
The fifth annual “Taking It To The Street” road hockey charity event is looking for TEAMS and volunteers. Money raised goes to the “Help Fill A Dream Foundation” which supports children with life-threatening conditions and their families. This will be a fun family event  including: a pancake breakfast, superheroes, princesses, mascots, a race car, a race car simulator driving experience, face painting, photo booth, inflatables, balloon artist, a BBQ, a giant cake, massage tent, a celebrity game, raffle, 50/50 and much, much more.

Peninsula Youth Clinic
The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.

Youth Clinic
The main Victoria Youth Clinic is open to all youth and is located at  818 Douglas Street on the 3rd floor. It is open Monday to Thursday 11-5 and Friday 11-4.
