A girl’s ring was found yesterday. Please come to the office to claim it.

Cafeteria Punch Cards
Reminder to students that cafeteria punch cards for $5 or $10 are available to purchase from the Accounting office.  This is a great option if you find yourself out of cash or if the ATM is out of order at lunch time.

PAC Breakfast Club
The PAC Breakfast Club will be running on WEDNESDAY mornings (before block 1) in the student lounge.  All students are welcome to come by for bagels, spreads and juice boxes. All items are free!

CLUBS
Key Club

Thank you to everyone who donated non-perishable food for the Key Club’s Cans for Candies and Trick or Eat food collection campaign, helping those in need in our community.

ATHLETICS
Swim Team

Congratulations to the Claremont Swim Team who competed at the Island Championships on Sunday and are Island Champions!  14 swimmers qualified for Provincials in individual events, as did every one of our relays. Our swimmers had great school spirit and their support for one another was impressive. Shout outs to :
* Victoria Miller and Jordan Talbot swimming in their very first swim meets.
* Ryder Heaney-Corns swimming a 28.62 in the 50 Free - not bad for a rugby player!
* Chantel Jeffrey - top points winner for the Open Girls with 30 points and placed 1st in all her events!* Keir Ogilvie - 2nd in the Open Boys with 28 points.

Sr Boys Volleyball
Congratulations goes out to the Sr. Boys Volleyball team who won all their matches in league. The Spartans defeated Lambrick Park (25-11, 25-11), Reynolds (25-23, 25-08) and Oak Bay (25-15, 27-29) last night. Although Claremont won the match split with Oak Bay, their tight set loss left their league set record to 41-1. The AAA Championships start Monday for the squad. Go Spartans!

Jr Boys Soccer
Our Jr Boys Soccer team are City Champs, playing a fantastic game in the City Finals yesterday against Reynolds and came away with a 3-0 victory.  Our players represented Claremont with pride and sportsmanship and we were extremely proud of their effort. Go Spartans!!

Girls Basketball
Any girls interested in playing basketball this year, there is an open gym for both Jr and Sr Girls TONIGHT 7:15-8:45 pm. Tryouts will be next week.

Jr Boys Basketball
Tryouts for this year's Junior Boys Basketball team continues this SUNDAY at 1pm.  There will be be one more tryout next week, if necessary. If you cannot make these tryouts or have any questions, please see Mr. Neufeld in room 264 at lunch time.

Sr Boys Basketball
The second Sr Boys Basketball  tryouts are this SUNDAY from 3-4:30pm. See Mr. Dunlop for more information or if you cannot make it.

CAREER CENTRE
District Hairdressing Program

Any students interested in the dual credit Cosmo/Hairdressing Program, offered by SD#63 in partnership with Vancouver Island University, please see Mr. Arsenault  in the Career Centre to sign up for the Feb. 2019 start!

Soldier For A Day- Work/Study Program
The BC Army Reserve is hosting a Soldier for a Day program on SATURDAY, November 17th.  This program is an introduction to the role of the BC Army Reserve both here in your home community, across Canada and even around the world. It’s also worth 6 1/2 hours of work experience. Don’t wait too long to sign up, as spaces are filling up fast!

For students in grades 10 to 12:  the BC Army Reserve is also hosting a full time SUMMER employment program; this includes leadership training, paid community service, plus up to $8000 of educational reimbursement funding.  See Mr. Arsenault in the Career Centre for more information on both of these opportunities.

Art Colleges Fair – Nov. 28
Students interested in Art and Design: mark your calendars for the Art Colleges Fair on Wednesday, November 28th at St. Michael's University School, from 6:00-7:30 pm! This art fair is a great opportunity for students to learn about a number of art and design programs in the U.S. and Canada. Visit the Career Centre for a list of the art schools that will be participating.

University Visit – Friday Nov. 2
A representative from University of Victoria will be at Claremont TOMORROW (Friday) at lunch in the Learning Commons  There will be a presentation with information all about UVic and the rep will be happy to answer any questions. Save the date!

Volunteer hours can count toward Grad Transition requirements and/or are a necessary requirement for some university program admissions. The Career Centre has information about various volunteer opportunities for students, including the following:

Tic toc, tic toc... Get your GT done and you will rock!  Pick up your forms from the Career Centre and interview with your favourite teacher!  Grad Transition is a must to do; the sooner the better - you know it's true!

Dry Grad Meeting – Nov. 6th
Our next Dry Grad meeting is TUESDAY, Nov 6th @ 7:00pm in the Learning Commons.  We invite all parents to join us to learn about the event, discuss ideas and find out ways that you can help out.   If you are interested in coordinating a position but unable to make the meeting, we have the following positions available:
