Found
A heart necklace has been found.  Please come to the office to claim it.

Lost
A Louis Vutton pencil case and an Asus laptop charger have been lost in the school.  If you have found these items, please help out your fellow student and bring them to the office.

Toys 4 Teens
We did it!!  Claremont far exceeded our goal of 500 gift cards for our Toys 4 Teens Donation Drive. Congratulations to Mr. Quested’s class for donating the most cards; they will be attending the wrap-up event tomorrow at Mayfair Mall for the Zone's Annual Toy Drive. Honourable mentions also go to Bussoli, Neufeld, McAvoy, Chapman and Pang's classes for their substantial donations. Thank you for your support of this great cause and for sharing the Spartan Spirit.

It's a Wonderful Life – Final Week
Three final nights! Claremont Year-Long Drama’s presentation of the classic story, “It’s A Wonderful Life” continues TONIGHT , FRIDAY and SATURDAY in the Ridge Playhouse, nightly at 7:30pm.  All tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. If you bring a non-perishable food item to donate, you can have your ticket price reduced by 50 cents for each item.  (Maximum discount $5). This play is appropriate for all ages, and this is a wonderful way to launch into the holiday season. Please come support Claremont Fine Arts!

Dropping a Semester 1 Class?
The last day for students to drop a semester 1 course is FRIDAY December 21st.  Forms are available in the Career Centre. After Dec. 21, students will not be allowed to drop a Semester 1 class and their marks will be on their report cards.

AP Physics Olympics Meeting
There is an AP Physics Olympics Team meeting on FRIDAY at lunch in room 133. 

Beef Jerkey Fundraiser
Come support the Claremont Senior Boys “travel” team as they sell all different kinds of beef jerky at a discounted price TODAY at lunch in the lounge. ALL inventory must go!!!!

It's Cold Season
Please be mindful that during cold season it is important to get plenty of rest, eat healthy foods, and wash your hands often. Situated throughout the school are hand sanitizer stations; please take advantage of these stations and keep your hands clean. It is a key component to staying healthy.

Photos, Student I.D. Cards and Bus Passes
There are still many school photos, student I.D. cards, and bus passes in the office.  Please come by to pick them up.

Volunteer Opportunity

Saanich Fusion Soccer Club is having its annual bottle drive on December 29 at Lochside Park. We are looking for volunteers to hand deliver flyers to neighbourhoods in Cordova Bay and Gordon Head.  We also need help sorting bottles on December 29 between 9 and 4pm. Various shifts are available. Please contact Tanya at peppersdomain@hotmail.com if you can help.

Job Opportunity
Island Health is looking for for student Test Shoppers for their Tobacco and Vapour Prevention and Control Program. Students aged between 14 and 18 conduct compliance checks on retail outlets in the Southern Vancouver Island area.  This is a paid (part-time) position of approx, $14.00 per hour.  More information and application details available in the Career Centre.

Global Volunteering
Lattitude Global Volunteering offers amazing GAP Year volunteer opportunities all around the world, lasting from 3 to 12 months!  Young adults from 17-25 years of age volunteer and learn through cultural immersion.  Volunteer as a teaching assistant, medical assistant, teacher, outdoor educator and more. High Tech U
Applications for UVic's High Tech U Program are available from the Career Centre. HighTech U is an initiative of the UVic Computer Science Dept. This 3-step program includes a an 8-week paid summer internship working in the the high-tech industry. Once completed, graduates of the internship will be eligible for a post-secondary award towards their first-year tuition at UVic.  Application submissions are due December 31st.  Visit the Career Centre or see Mr. Beeston for more information.

University of Alberta - Gr. 11 Opportunity
The University of Alberta is offering interested Grade 11 students a chance for an all expenses paid trip to visit the University of Alberta during the weekend of May 24-26, 2019!  This trip only has 20 seats available, so don't delay! Apply by February 10, 2019, at UAB.CA/BOARDING.

Grad Transition

They're comin' in slow, but it's good to know, some students had fun and got their GT done! Don't delay; get your forms today! Complete it all soon so you can graduate in June! Pick up your GT forms from the Career Centre.

Grad Photo Retakes – Jan. 21 & 22
Lifetouch will be back at Claremont for two days only, January 21 & 22 to do Grad Photo Retakes and take photos of students that missed the original date.  The Lifetouch website is ready for grads to go online and book their appointments.  Please go to www.lifetouch.ca/victoria  or call 250-744-4100 if you require assistance.
If you are having retakes, please bring your original package and if you are having photos taken for the first time please bring the sitting fee of $25

Peninsula Youth Clinic

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.
