Lost & Found Table
A lost & found table has been set up in the horseshoe hallway near the office. Please check the tables for your forgotten clothing and miscellaneous belongings. There is a selection of jackets, shorts, hoodies, t-shirts, mens’s dress pants, water bottles, etc. Items not picked up will be donated to charity./
Additonal Found Items
A bike helmet, a Pursuit of Excellence hoodie and a down jacket have also been found. Please come to the office to claim them.

Dropping a Semester 1 Class?
The last day for students to drop a semester 1 course THIS FRIDAY December 21st. Forms are available in the Career Centre. After Dec. 21, students will not be allowed to drop a Semester 1 class and their marks will be on their report cards.
It's Cold Season
Please be mindful that during cold season it is important to get plenty of rest, eat healthy foods, and wash your hands often. Situated throughout the school are hand sanitizer stations; please take advantage of these stations and keep your hands clean. It is a key component to staying healthy.
Photos, Student I.D. Cards and Bus Passes
There are still many school photos, student I.D. cards, and bus passes in the office. Please come by to pick them up.
CLUBS
Math Club
1. Congratulations to Sam DANG and Gary WU for their top scores on the Canadian Senior and Intermediate contests. Sam finished 12th in BC on the Senior and Gary finished 26th on the Intermediate. All scores are now posted in the Math wing.
2. Early registration deadline for the grade 9/10 Math Challengers is TODAY. Please come to room 130 at lunch TODAY if you are interested in this team competition that takes place in February.
Medical Club
Medical Club will be meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 200.
Spirit Squad
Spirit Squad is celebrating the last week before the holiday break with some festive events:
We will be showing the movie ‘ELF’ in the theatre WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY at lunch.

Key Club Fundraiser – Tree Chipping
The Key Club will be running their tree chipping fundraiser on the first weekend of January in the Claremont student parking lot: Saturday Jan. 5, 10:00-4:00, and Sunday Jan. 6, 10:00 -2:00. Chipping is by donation; proceeds will go to the charities and organizations we support. Thank you to Cordova Bay Tree Service for providing/donating the chipping service.

Job Opportunity
Island Health is looking for for student Test Shoppers for their Tobacco and Vapour Prevention and Control Program. Students aged between 14 and 18 conduct compliance checks on retail outlets in the Southern Vancouver Island area. This is a paid (part-time) position of approx, $14.00 per hour. Volunteer Opportunity
Saanich Fusion Soccer Club is having its annual bottle drive on December 29 at Lochside Park. We are looking for volunteers to hand deliver flyers to neighbourhoods in Cordova Bay and Gordon Head. We also need help sorting bottles on December 29 between 9 and 4pm. Various shifts are available. Please contact Tanya at peppersdomain@hotmail.com if you can help.
Global Volunteering
Lattitude Global Volunteering offers amazing GAP Year volunteer opportunities all around the world, lasting from 3 to 12 months! High Tech U – Dec. 20
HighTechU is a youth-led technology program based out of the University of Victoria aimed at helping teens on Vancouver Island build skills related to work in the tech sector. A representative will be here THIS THURSDAY December 20th at lunch in room 236, to give a presentation and talk more about the program; you will be provided with information on the program from a participant’s perspective and information about the exciting opportunities. University of Alberta - Gr. 11 Opportunity
The University of Alberta is offering interested Grade 11 students a chance for an all expenses paid trip to visit the University of Alberta during the weekend of May 24-26, 2019! Dry Grad Fundraiser – Bottle Drop
Complete your holiday clean-up by removing the refundable containers from your house! On the same days of the Key Club tree chipping fund-raiser (Saturday Jan. 5, 10:00-4:00, and Sunday Jan. 6, 10:00-2:00), please bring your bottles to the Claremont student parking lot to drop off your bottles. Thank you for support the grad class of 2019.
Grad Photo Retakes – Jan. 21 & 22
Lifetouch will be back at Claremont for two days only, January 21 & 22 to do Grad Photo Retakes and take photos of students that missed the original date. The Lifetouch website is ready for grads to go online and book their appointments. Please go to www.lifetouch.ca/victoria or call 250-744-4100 if you require assistance.
If you are having retakes, please bring your original package and if you are having photos taken for the first time please bring the sitting fee of $25

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.
