GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

ScreamFest - The biggest Halloween party in town!

Claremont is hosting the 11th annual ScreamFest Halloween event next week on WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY (October 23 & 24).   2 Haunted Walks, new mid-way games, a Costume Contest, BBQ dinner, and lots of scary fun!   Tickets are on sale every day at lunch time in the Spartan Store and the theatre box office.   $10 per person includes admission, 1 Haunt and 1 midway game. Additional coupons are available for purchase at the event.

ScreamFest Volunteers – Group Meeting

For any and all students and staff who are volunteering at ScreamFest, there is an important group meeting on MONDAY at lunch in the big gym.

Lost & Found

Several jackets have been found in the school, and it is getting colder and rainy outside.  Please come to the office to claim them.

Parents: Pick-ups & Drop-offs

Reminder to parents when dropping off and picking up students: please be conscientious about not blocking the driveways of our neighbours. In particular, Strangcrest Place, right across the road from the school, has become problematic for our neighbours. We hope that students can be picked up a little further down the road (a short walk and some fresh air is always a good thing). Thank you for your cooperation.

Student Parking – Registration Required

Reminder to all students who are parking in the student parking lot: you must be registered to park there. Permission forms are in the office. To become registered, the office needs: a parent-signed registration form, a photocopy of your driver’s licence, a photocopy of your car insurance, and $2 for the parking pass.

There are about 125 student I.D. cards still in the office waiting to be picked up.

Citizen & Service Awards

A number of Citizen & Service Awards were not picked up by students at the end of June.  A list of recipient names is posted outside of the office and the Learning Commons.  If your name is on the list, please come to the office to pick up your award.

Photo Retake Day – Oct. 24

Photo retake day is THURSDAY October 24 in block 1, if you missed the first photo day, or if you want a new photo taken. If you want retakes, you must return your complete original package (and I.D. card) to the photographer at the time of retakes.  Purchasing photos is optional, but all students in all grades need to have school photos taken, for school identification purposes (grade 12’s too - even if you are having grad photos taken). Order forms are available in the office.
