GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Spartan Wear – Clothing Orders Due Feb. 23
Spartan Wear is on sale again!! If you would like to buy a Claremont Spartan hoodie, shirt, sweat pants, or lanyard, please pick up an order form from the Accounting Office. All sales are pre-order only. Deadline for orders & payment is THIS TUESDAY February 23 to Ms. Marshall in the Accounting office. Estimated time for clothing to arrive at Claremont is before Spring Break.
2021-2022 Course Book
The digital Course Book for the 2021-2022 school year is now posted on the Claremont website. Families can familiarize themselves with course offerings, specialty programs and pathways to graduation.
Course Selection Forms - Available Feb. 18
Course selection forms for our current grade 9-11 students will be handed out on THURSDAY Feb. 18.
Course selection forms and Registration Packages will also be posted on the Claremont website on Feb.18 for new applicants to Claremont (Note: ROMS students will receive their course selection forms at ROMS, and they are not required to submit Registration packages).
After School Homework Club
For all students who would like extra help in Math, English, Science or Social Studies: help from Education Assistants is available on TUESDAYS and WEDNESDAYS 3:00-4:00 after school in room 235 (computer lab). All students in all grades are welcome. Please wear a mask.
Peer Tutoring
Another avenue for students to get help with academic studies (Math, English, Science, and Social Studies) is to work with a Peer Tutor. We have volunteer Peer Tutors who are ready to be paired up with students asking for some extra help. If you are interested in having a Peer Tutor, please see Mrs. Wadsworth in the Learning Commons.
Mid-Morning Breaktime Food Service
Reminder that the Spartan Store is open every morning for breakfast and snack service 10:00-11:00, with reasonably-priced hot drinks and morning treats. Cash or lunch cards only.
Breakfast Club on Thursday
Claremont’s Breakfast Club is TOMORROW morning at the Spartan Store. This FREE breakfast includes a bagel, spread, and juice. Breakfast will be served from 8:20 - 9:00 every THURSDAY MORNING for the remainder of the school year.

Skills Canada Competition Week – Register by Feb.19
Show your skills, compete, and have fun by registering for Skills Canada Competition Week!
There are Secondary (Grades 10-12) and Junior (Grades 6-9) competitions, based on tons of fun categories, like: Electronics, Culinary, Graphic Design, Hairstyling, Wind Turbines, Gear Bots, Public Speaking, Photography, Job Search, and more! Competition Week: March 1-6. Students must be registered by THIS FRIDAY, February 19th! For more info or to register, see Mr. Bussoli.
First Aid Training – April 23
CRC Emergency First-Aid with CPR "C": This will be blended learning: 4 hours online of fun and interactive learning, and 4.5 hours of in-class learning. This course trains people how to react and improvise during life threatening emergencies. This is an early posting, but these courses fill up fast! Cost is $50.

There are so many virtual information sessions and events being offered by post-secondary institutions. The Saanich School District has a Careers page that is full of good information about various training and post-secondary opportunities. Student Transcript Service
Grade 12’s: Did you know that YOU can access your own transcripts from the Student Transcript Service website? You can view your transcript and/or send them to a Post-Secondary Institution of your choice, at any time. It is easy to make a BCeID account on the Student Transcript Service. Peninsula Youth Clinic
Peninsula Youth Clinic is operating through Telehealth on Thursday evenings 5:30 - 7:30pm Appointments with doctors or mental health workers are conducted by phone or video. Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone for any medical concerns, to get prescriptions, or to speak with a counsellor. To make an appointment, call 250-656-4143.
Foundry Youth Clinic
Foundry Victoria Youth Clinic offers young people ages 12-24 health and wellness services, with doctors, mental health workers, and peer support workers. Foundry is open for virtual and on-site appointments. To make an appointment, call 250-383-3552. Phones are answered beginning at 10:30AM on weekdays to schedule appointments for the day.
