GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
After School Homework Club
For all students who would like extra help in Math, English, Science or Social Studies: help from Education Assistants is available on TUESDAYS & THURSDAY after school 3:15-4:15 in room 235. All students in all grades are welcome.
Stagecraft Students
Stagecraft crew for Humbug High: there is a meeting TOMORROW (Wednesday) at the beginning of lunch today in the theatre.
Crim and Psych Dual Credit Courses - URGENT
Did you sign up for a Crim 154 or Pysch 130 Dual Credit Course for this school year? You should have received an email, last June, with instructions to complete the last step of the application process. THIS APPLICATION AND FEE WILL SECURE YOUR SPOT. There are a few of you who still have not submitted your completed application and fee receipt. If this is you, your spot is not secured. Please complete this step and submit it to Mr Bussoli ASAP. Come see him if you have questions.
School Photos (RETAKES) Are Here
The batch of RETAKE photos have arrived! If you had your school photo taken on Retake Day, please come pick yours up in the office. As mentioned before, there are still many photo packages to pick up from the original Photo Day too!
Bus Cards
There are 130 bus cards still in the office, waiting to be picked up for students who are registered to ride the bus. The bus drivers are now expecting students to show their bus cards to ride the school bus.
Grad Diplomas for 2021 Grads
Parents: if you have an older child who graduated in June ‘21, their Dogwood Graduation Diplomas are available in the office for pickup. Younger siblings are welcome to pick them up.
ATHLETICS – GO SPARTANS!!!
Claremont Rowers
This past weekend, Spartan Rowers participated in the National Rowing Championships on Elk Lake. This event saw the top competitors in 1 and 2 person boats from across the country descend onto the waters of Elk Lake for their shot at getting ranked nationally and getting a chance at being part of the National Training Center. This event was double the distance that we had been training for in our regular season, however the Spartans crushed it, beating competition who have been solely training for this event for the past 3 months. This format of racing had high school athletes competing right beside university and older athletes.
Congratulations to all of our CSI athletes and Claremont after school athletes for impressive final placings!

Spartan Spirit Club
Spartan Spirit Club meets TODAY at the beginning of lunch in room 301.
Chess Club
The Chess Club is now open in room 327 EVERY DAY at lunch. All levels are welcome and all equipment is provided. Masks are mandatory while playing.
Welcomers Club
All students looking to meet new people in the building and have a nice place to be at lunch, you are invited to come to the Welcomers Club TODAY and every TUESDAY at lunch in room 235. Saanich Schools International Student Program is looking for new host families for our International student who will be joining us in February 2022, as well as host families who would like to be available on short notice for students currently here. This can be a wonderful opportunity to make life-long friendships and share the beauty of your home and community. Host families receive a generous monthly allowance of $975 to offset expenses.

GRAD 2022
Grad ’22 Winter Gala – Dec.6
Grads: the Winter Gala will be MONDAY Dec 6th 7:00-10:00pm. Tickets are now on sale on-line and in person through the accounting office. $25 ticket includes food, photobooth, games, and music, and making memories with your grad class. Coat check is available.

Grad Portraits – Additional Booking Dates Available
Additional sessions have been opened up for those students who were unable to secure a spot in the first round of dates.

Please note that these sessions will be held at the LIFETOUCH STUDIO at #104-1740 Island Hwy, not at Claremont. The $25 sitting fee can be paid online while booking your appointment or at the time of your sitting. Magic Wand Project
Magic Wand Project is a non-profit organization that offers an inexpensive and eco-friendly alternative to grad outfits for both girls and boys. This is a chance to borrow, rather than buy, a dress, suit or tux, (a small fee for cleaning is the only charge). All outfits are new or like-new, and all accessories are included. Part-time yard clean-up. One of our neighbours in the Broadmead area is looking for a student to help on weekends part-time, with yard clean-up.
The Sidney Museum is posting a job for an Archive Intern. This would be an ideal opportunity for a high school student aged 16+ to gain experience in the Archives field. The museum will be accepting resumes until the position is filled and will begin reviewing them on November 16th. 14 hours/week (9:00am to 4:30pm Saturdays and Sundays). $16.60/hour.

Early Childhood Education Dual Credit Option
The South Island Partnership (SIP) is excited to announce a new dual credit option for students interested in Early Childhood Education (ECE)! SIP has been awarded special funding to deliver a five-course cluster of dual credit courses that are part of Camosun's Early Learning & Care (ELC) program, running February - June 2022.
With a start date of Feb 2022, the window of time to apply is short! See Mr. Bussoli as soon as possible, for more information. There is also an Info Night at the Camosun Interurban Campus, Nov 17, 7pm-8pm.

Claremont Parent Advisory Council (CPAC) Meeting - TONIGHT @ 7pm
Inviting all parents to attend the 3rd CPAC meeting of the year through MS Teams or live in the Claremont Learning Commons. The meeting will run 7pm-8pm. We will extend the invite to parents who joined us last month (no need to sign up). For others who wish to join, please sign up today through this link: CPAC Meeting. An MS Teams Invite will be issued in advance of the meeting. We will discuss and align on funding allocation for student clubs, etc.

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at 2379 Bevan Avenue in Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30-7:30pm for help with any medical concern (physical, mental, and sexual health).
