GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Spartan Shoot-Out & Friday Night Lights

The Spartan Shootout will be held Nov 26/27.  This lacrosse tourney is a rare opportunity for our guys to play at home in front of family and friends.  Over the two days there will be over 40 games played. One of the highlights every year is the Friday Night Lights game that happens Friday night and is a way to honour and recognize our grade 12 guys and their parents.  Also a part of this fun night is a fundraiser we do every year.  Most years the contributions go to KidSport but...this year we will be contributing to Emily's Journey for Emily Cox.  Emily is a 2015 Claremont grad; since graduation Emily has battled and defeated cancer twice.  Part of the cost in her latest battle was unfortunately having to lose her leg to help guarantee the cancer does not return.  She is a pretty amazing young lady; she has an awesome positive attitude and is moving on and pushing forward. The funds will go to help Emily buy her prosthetic leg that she is needing/wanting.  She has a lot of help already, but the cost is $75,000+ so any help we can provide will help.  Other ventures have occurred, and she is close to $60,000 already.  You can read more about Emily’s Journey HERE.

Spartan Day & Friday Night Lights – Nov 26

Friday Night Lights is THIS FRIDAY at the UVic field!!  Tickets are by donation at the gate and all money will be donated to Emily’s Journey. Dress warm and come watch some exciting lacrosse as our Spartans take on Washington State champs, Mercer Island, once again. The game starts at 7:30 pm.  Staff and students, this is also Spartan Day!!  Please wear RED or your Spartan gear on FRIDAY for Spartan spirit and to support our Lacrosse Boys!!
