GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Course Selection Forms – Return by March 11

For all of our current grade 9, 10, and 11 students: completed course selection forms are due back at the school office by FRIDAY March 11. Please have conversations at home about your own academic pathway and choices, and fill out the form carefully.  Note: our Course Guide Book is also available on our Claremont website if you wish to find out more information about courses.

 

Lost & Found

An empty Air Pod case was found in the school.  Please come to the office to claim it.

 

Spartan Wear

TODAY is the final day if you wish to buy any of the remaining Spartan Wear items, on sale at lunch in the student lounge.   Various types of clothing, various sizes. First come, first served.

 

Musical Theatre Presents “Wizard of Oz”: March 2-12

“The Wizard of Oz” opens next week!!  Come join us "Over the Rainbow" in the "Merry old land of Oz" and watch the hard work and efforts of our Claremont cast, crew and orchestra perform this classic musical.

The musical performs nightly at 7pm March 2-5 and 9-12. Additional 1pm matinees will occur on Saturday March 5th and March 12th. *We will be following all provincial health and safety guidelines.  We will be performing both LIVE and via LIVESTREAM. You can reserve in-person tickets at 250-658-6672.

For in-person shows: $16 for adults, $12 for students/children/seniors.

For livestream shows: $25 + service fee.

Absences and Illness

A reminder that parents/guardians notify the school office every day that a student will be absent from school. PLEASE indicate if the reason for absence is for illness; the Ministry of Education requires that schools specifically track how many student absences are due to illness. Please notify either the Attendance email: claremont_attendance@saanichschools.ca or by phone message: 250-658-6666.  Please perform BC’s K-12 daily health check before arriving at school by clicking HERE .

 

ATHLETICS

Senior Girls Soccer

For all students interested in playing Senior Girls Soccer this year - please come to a meeting TODAY at lunch in the big gym with Ms Yager.

 

Track & Field

For all students wanting to be a part of the track and field team this spring: the first meeting is TODAY at the start of lunch in room 321 with Ms Simmonds.  See Mr Reisig or Ms Simmonds if you have any questions.

GRAD 2022

Grad 2022 Fundraiser - Pizza Day

Please come support your graduates by purchasing hot delicious Domino’s pizza TODAY at lunch in the cafeteria. Pizza is $3.00 a slice or buy a box and share with your friends! There will also be pop and chips available. CASH SALES ONLY (no lunch cards, sorry). All proceeds will help make for a memorable send off for these deserving students!

 

Grad 2022 Fundraiser – Purdy’s Chocolates

Calling all chocolate-lovers!  Grad parents are teaming up with Purdy’s Chocolatier to fundraise for this year's graduating class. All fundraising profits raised will directly support Claremont's 2022 Graduating students, so every order makes a great difference to us.

Grad 2022 Fundraiser - Silent Auction

The grad committee is actively seeking silent auction donations for their upcoming online auction in May. If you have a donation you would like to contribute (monetary, service item, gift certificate etc) we would love to include it in our auction. The Victoria Literacy Connection is looking for tutors and volunteers to read with children. Both roles are only online at this point, so you would be volunteering from the comfort of your own home! Open to ages 16+.  This is a great way to accrue your 30 hours of volunteer work!

Peninsula Youth Clinic

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at 2379 Bevan Avenue in Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30-7:30pm for help with any medical concern (physical, mental, and sexual health). Call 250-656-4143 to make an appointment with a physician or counsellor.  Services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities!
