GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Messages
There are messages in the office for:  Leah Doyle,  Brittany Davenock,  Kayla Matthews,  Lacey Laitinen,  Samantha Lodge,  Josh Newton,  Maya Smith,  Nate Smith,  and Tyler Ward.

Photo Retakes
Photo retakes will take place TOMORROW morning.  If you missed the first day that photos were taken, please come to the office to pick up your order form.  If you want retakes, you need to bring back your full photo package and return it to the photographer before your retake is done.  All students, including grade 12's, need to have a photo taken for the current school year for school purposes, even if you don't wish to buy any.

School photos and ID cards
If you had photos taken in September but you have not received your photos or ID cards yet, please come to the office to pick them up.

Gay-Straight Alliance Meeting
Curious about the Gay-Straight Alliance?  Come to our meeting this THURSDAY at lunch in room 320. Join or just drop in.

Trip to London
If you are interested in going on the Spring Break 2014 trip to London, the last meeting to learn about this opportunity will be this FRIDAY at lunch in the theatre .

Remembrance Day Ceremonies
Do you want to be involved in our school's Remembrance Day Ceremonies?  Come to the choir room TODAY at lunch if you are interested in being involved.

Passport to Education 2012-2013 Winners Announced!
Lists of Passport to Education Recipients for 2012-2013 have been posted to the school website as well as in the Learning Commons, Counselling area and outside the office.  Students can check the lists to see if they received one for last year. You have until November 11th to appeal if your name isn't on the list and you think you should have received one.  Passports are held by the school and given to students after they graduate.

Blood Donors
Attention Blood Donors:  Donating blood TODAY are:  Kayla Matthews,  Lisa Su,  Emmanuelle Caws,  Etosha Guess, Stephen Downs, Matthew Downie, and Sean Innes.  Thank you for making a difference.

Congratulations and thank you to the following students who donated blood yesterday. Thank you very much for your gift of life:  Amanda Bamford, Brooke Baleja, Jake Gnech, Gary Parsons, Jae You Park, Cole Ollis, Devon Wicks, and Pavan Tung.  

For all upcoming blood donors, please return your consent forms to Mr Spoor ASAP and check with Mr Spoor on your donation date and time.

Volleyball Intramurals
TODAY at lunch is the finals of the volleyball intramural.
Junior Final game is:  Team Jake Campbell plays Staff Infection #1  
Senior Final game is:  Team Karcher plays Staff Infection #2.
Come out and cheer them on!

Cross Country Team
Congratulations to Claremont's Cross Country Team for some outstanding results at the Island Age Groups yesterday.  Both the grade 9 boys team and the senior boys team placed 2nd on the Island. Leading the way individually in their respective races were Angus Brown (3rd), Hamish Babin (4th), Roberto Fedrigo (5th), Phil Vellacott (8th), Robert MacDonald (9th) and Sarah Hall (8th).

Camosun's Centre for Sport & Exercise Education Info Sesison
Any students interested in learning more about Camosun College's Sport & Exercise Education Programs should attend a free information session this THURSDAY Oct 17th from 6-7pm at the PISE Building on the Interurban campus.

UVic's Health Information Science Open House
Any students interested in a career in healthcare information and communication technologies, should attend an Open House at UVic's School of Health Information Science on THURSDAY October 17th from 4:30 – 5:30pm.  See Mrs. Pryer in the Career Centre for more information.   

Encounters With Canada
Encounters With Canada is offering a promotion of $125 off registration for a limited time only for the following themed trips to Ottawa: Arts & Culture, Journalism & Communications, Canada Remembers, and Medicine & Health.  Check out their website or see Mrs. Pryer in the Career Centre for more information.

GRADUATION 2014

Attention grads!!  Lifetouch is here will their portable studio to take your Grad photos for the next two weeks.  The studio is parked out back, behind the school. If you have not booked your photo shoot, please go to the Lifetouch website as soon as possible:  www.lifetouch.ca/victoria.    Information forms are in the office.  These photos will be in the yearbook so we request that everyone have a photo taken.  If you are just having one photo taken for the yearbook only, then Lifetouch will take this picture at "No Charge”.
