GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
School Forms
Please remember to return all of the school forms that were handed out in House Block last week.

Photo Day
Photo Day is this THURSDAY.  Purchasing a photo package is optional, but every student in every grade needs a photo taken for school identification purposes. Please bring your order form and payment to the photographer on Thursday.

BC Transit Youth Pass
BC Transit will be at Claremont on THURSDAY for students who wish to apply for the Youth Pass, which is a full bus pass valid from October-June.  You will need to a cheque of $315 made out to BC Transit, valid I.D. and a consent form signed by a parent.  Order forms are in the office.

Scholarship Meeting
The first Scholarship Meeting of the year will be this FRIDAY at lunch in Room 324.  Come and sign up for email notifications about the thousands of dollars just waiting to be given out throughout the year...hope to see you there!!

Best Buddies
Best Buddies is a club that promotes friendships between students with developmental disabilities and their peers.  Peer buddies are invited to an organizational meeting on THURSDAY at lunch in room 234.  Everyone welcome.  Questions?  Ask Mrs. Stetson Rm. 216.

Spring Break 2016 – Trip to London, England
Students interested in learning more about a proposed trip to London, England Spring Break 2016 are asked to attend a meeting on FRIDAY Sept. 18Th at lunch in the theatre. See Mr. Plant for more details.

Pursuit of Excellence Students
Attention all new Pursuit of Excellence students!  If you have not yet met with your Pursuit of Excellence teacher, please see them to get an important information sheet.  Grade 9 students need to see Ms. Milne in room 324, Grade 10 students need to see Mrs. Marshall in room 336, and grade 11 and 12 students need to see Ms. Tong in room 323.  There is an important parent meeting TONIGHT at 6:30 pm.  The grade 9's and 10's start class on WEDNESDAY at 8 am.

Food Service
The cafeteria will be running a limited service this week. Pizza, snacks and drinks will be available. Full service will begin on FRIDAY.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Student Government – First meeting
The first meeting of the year for Student Government will be TODAY at lunch in the theatre.  All students are welcome to join this fun and important group.  Bring your lunch and meet some people who are interested in making Claremont and even better school!

ATHLETICS
Sports Meetings
Cross Country Team - Everyone is still welcome to join the Cross Country team.  We practice on MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY after school.  Get changed and meet in Mr. Nelson's room right after school.  See Mr. Nelson in room 137 for more info.
Senior Boys Soccer - tryouts this week are TODAY after school on the main field and WEDNESDAY after school at Lochside (players are to arrange their own transportation to and from Lochside).  All 11/12 students are welcome.
Junior Boys Soccer - meeting is TODAY at lunch in the main gym for everyone.  First tryout will be WEDNESDAY or THURSDAY this week on the main school field after school.  All 9/10 boys are welcome.
Volleyball players: make sure you see your coach or see Mr Reisig in the PE office to make sure you are aware of when your next practice/tryout is for this week.  
Field Hockey: Girls wanting to play field hockey this year, please see Mr Reisig for information.

CAREER CENTRE
Victoria Flying Club
Victoria Flying Club Career Fair and Open House is this SATURDAY, Sept. 19th, 11 am to 3 pm.  Information and brochures are available in the Career Centre.
