Queer-Straight Alliance - First Meeting
Queer-Straight Alliance will hold its first meeting TODAY at lunch in room 320. Anyone is welcome!

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Cops 4 Cancer
Thank you to everyone who made donations and/or helped with fund-raising for Cops 4 Cancer Tour de Rock so far.  TODAY is the final day of our Claremont challenge of raising $10,000. There is still time to donate! Stay tuned for the final tally!!

WE Day Vancouver Is Coming Soon
WE Day is coming to Vancouver on October 21, 2015.  There are limited number of tickets for Claremont. Students wishing to attend are required to sign up for an interview. The sign up sheet will be in the Learning Commons and will be up between October 1 to October 8. 

Free The Children
Here’s a chance to make a difference: help out with the Free the Children organization! If you’re looking for fun volunteer opportunities that help out more then just your local community, then come to the IGS room (room 264) this FRIDAY at lunch.

Clubs Showcase
Are you wondering what different clubs are happening at Claremont?  Come to our Clubs Showcase on TUESDAY Oct. 6 at lunch in the Learning Commons. There are lots of ways to get involved at Claremont!

Lost and Found - Rings
Girls!  We have four pretty rings in the office that have been found on various days in the girls washroom.  Please come to the office to claim them.

Today's Class Schedule Change
TODAY's class schedule is on the front page of the Claremont website and posted at the front of the office.  Classes are shortened to accommodate our Spirit Day activities, welcoming the Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock riders, and early closure (2:28) to prepare for Meet the Teacher night.

Hair Models Needed for Studio 63
Get a FREE cut, colour and updo at Studio 63 Teaching Salon on MONDAY November 2nd  from 8:30 - 1:00.  Lunch will be included!  Looking for students with long hair who don't mind having layers put in.  Please visit the Career Centre for more info!

ChatterHigh Competition
There is a prize pot of $2250 for Claremont to win in the Camosun College ChatterHIgh AA Competition!! Log on to your ChatterHigh account to learn about participating Post Secondary Organizations and, at the same time, start earning points!! Points can be used toward draw prizes or be redeemed for different items. The more points you earn the more Claremont can win!!  Competition closes October 23rd, so get 'quizzing' today!! Invite your parents, friends and neighbours to join in too!  Let's make Claremont #1!  Have fun and good luck!  Go Spartans!  Woohoo!

Congratulation to our new Student President: Aidan Faminoff !!   Our new Vice-Presidents are:  Olivia Cowie, Steven Hao, Kamilla Hoggan, Ariana Kelly, and Amy Vanwell  Thank you to all candidates for a positive, respectful and lively campaign.  We look forward to each of them providing great leadership for this school year.

UBC to Visit Claremont
University of BC reps will be visiting Claremont on THURSDAY, October 15th, at 11:50.  Stay tuned for more information!

Ivy League Schools
Considering Harvard? Brown? Princeton? or other Ivy League schools? An information event, including these schools and more, will be held at St. Margaret's School this SUNDAY October 4th at 7 pm in the gym. Students in grade 11 and 12 interested in Undergraduate study are welcome to attend, as well as parents and interested teachers.  No RSVP is necessary.  Visit the Career Centre for more information!

Grad Portraits
Grads:  It’s time to book your Grad Portrait photo shoot.  Lifetouch is bringing a portable studio to Claremont starting October 8th.  You need to book  your appointment NOW by going onto the Lifetouch website:  www.lifetouch.ca/victoria.  Photo brochures are available in the office. Don’t put this off, because the appointments book up quickly!
