LUNCH MEETINGS TODAY
Soroptimist: Imagining Possibilities Conference
For those students who had registered or were planning on registering for the Young Women's conference on October 26th:  if you didn't meet with Ms. Paas yesterday, please see her TODAY at lunch in room 200.  

UBC is coming to Claremont Toda
There will be a presentation from a University of BC representative in the Learning Commons TODAY at lunch time.  UBC viewbooks will be available at that time for those interested.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
School Bus Passes
If you have registered to ride the school bus, most of the bus passes have arrived. Please come to the office to pick them up.

Starve a Vampire......Give Blood
The first blood drive appointments are available on TUESDAY Oct 27th at the Saanich Road site.
Students must be 17yrs old.  Sign up at lunch in student lounge or see Ms Chapman, room 136.

School Photos
If students missed picking up their school photos in House Block last week, the photos can be picked up in the office.  Photo Retake Day is WEDNESDAYOct 21.

Claremont Reads
October's question:  "What was the BEST USSR book you've read in English class?"  Enter the draw in the Learning Commons!  It pays to read at Claremont because...Claremont READS!!!

ATHLETICS
Athletics Update For the Week
Junior boys soccer team will have home games at Lochside TODAY.  Kickoff at 3:30.  Team members are reminded of meetings in small gym to organize rides.
Senior boys soccer: after 2 heart-breaking losses in their first two games (both 1-0 in the final minutes) the senior boys travel to the new Royal Bay to take them on TODAY.
Senior boys basketball : players are reminded of their last open gym this FRIDAY after school from 3:00-5:00. Tryouts will begin next week.
Girls basketball - All potential girls bball players - an open gym this week in the main gym TONIGHT from 7:15-9:00.  All girls are welcome (all grades).

Adrienne's Tea Garden at Mattick's Farm requires 2 dishwashing personnel and 1 front end staff person.  Please see Mr. Arsenault for more details!

Trades Programs at Camosun
For students interested in a program at Camosun next semester in Welding, Plumbing or Electrical, there are lots of spots left!!!  See Mr. Arsenault in the Career Centre! 

GRAD 2016
New Grad Information
Grads:  Please check the Grad Board (bottom of the middle stairs) for 2 important, time sensitive, information pieces:
1. A new communication tool to send Grad information to your phone by text.
2. A fund raising opportunity that is due by Monday.
Please check Facebook for information on your first Grad day this FRIDAY, October 16.

Magic Wand
The Magic Wand is a non-profit organization that offers an eco-friendly and inexpensive alternative to grad outfits for girls and boys.  You can borrow like-new grad dresses, tuxes, suits, shoes and accessories for grad night. A small fee for cleaning is the only cost.  The first “Boutique” to browse and choose an outfit is this FRIDAY October 16th .  To sign up to attend the “Boutique” (or to book a private appointment): email Elizabeth at esurerus@telus.net. 

Grad Portraits
Grads:  Lifetouch has their portable studio at Claremont until October 22 to take your grad photos. You need to book your appointment NOW by going onto the Lifetouch website:  www.lifetouch.ca/victoria.  Photo brochures are available in the office. Don’t put this off, because the appointments book up quickly!
