GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Sweets and Treats
TODAY at lunch near the ticket booth, Sweets and Treats will be offering one-of-a-kind cinnamon buns and butter tarts.  100% of the proceeds are going to the SPCA.  One purchase could brighten an animal's day.

Arizona Iced Chari-TEA
Hey, are you thirsty for a change?  Come down to the big gym entrance, TODAY at lunch and get some Arizona Iced Tea for $1.00 a cup.  All proceeds are going to the Mustard Seed.

Europe Spring 2017 – Beaches and Battlefields Trip
There will be a parent information night for the 'Beaches and Battlefields' trip on THURSDAY, Jan 21st at 6pm.  Amsterdam, and France for the 100th anniversary of Vimy Ridge.  $100 discount for early bird sign up.  Contact Mr Gardner for more info: dgardner@sd63.bc.ca

ATHLETICS
BasketBall
Congrats to our top 10 ranked Senior Girls team as they participated in the Top 10 tourney this past weekend going 2-2 and playing or seeing every top team in the province.  And to our Senior Boys for a thrilling OT win vs Spectrum last Friday night.
TODAY - our Jr Boys and Jr Girls B teams are hosting at 4:15 and 5:45 and the boys will need to be excused at 3:20.
THURSDAY - Our Sr Girls host Oak Bay at 7:30 - both are ranked in top 0 and it will be a battle of the two unbeatens in league.  Our Jr Girls are at Belmont for 5:45.

Badminton
For all students interested in trying out for the badminton team: there will be a meeting TODAYat lunch in room 135.

CAREER CENTRE
Free Retail Training
This certificate program prepares you for first time work experiences in retail and many other work environments. You will be treated as an employee and you will be working alongside a busy team of staff members. You will have training in: working a cash register & counting cash, customer service, creating displays, sorting inventory, pricing, opening & closing procedures.  Visit the Career Centre for contact information.

Free Resume Writing Workshop
There will be a free resume writing workshop on FRIDAY February 12 (Pro-D Day)  9:00am – 4:00 pm at SHOAL Centre – 10030 Resthaven Drive, Sidney.  This workshop will accommodate those who have no resume and those who need to polish up their resume.   Visit the Career Centre for contact information!

Youth Job Fair
Looking for a summer job?  Exploring a career or post secondary education? Visit the Job Fair on FRIDAY February 19 (Pro-D Day) 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the SHOAL Centre, 10030 Resthaven Drive, in Sidney.  Many students were hired as a result of last year’s event, so bring your resumé.  You could be hired too!  Here is a taste of who is coming: BC Transit, Richard Mar Advanced School of Hairstyle and Esthetics, Tanner Books, Recreation Integration, Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre, BC Ferries, Q College, CDI College, Camosun College, Quadrant Marine Institute, Business Works Youth, Royal BC Museum, and the list is still growing…

Island Medical Program – Info Session
There will be an information session for high school students on WEDNESDAY, February 17, 7-8:30 pm.  Learn about UBC’s Doctor of Medicine (MD) Undergraduate Program delivered in collaboration with UVic.  With a class size of 32 students, the Island Medical Program provides a truly unique environment for learning. UVic: Medical Sciences Building, Room 150.

Camosun College - Sport & Exercise Education
Camosun's Centre for Sport & Exercise Education (CSEE) is hosting their next free information session this THURSDAY, Jan 21st, from 6-7:00 pm at the Interurban Campus, PISE building, room 329A.

Encounters Canada – Vimy Week
Calling all history buffs!  The Vimy week awaits you! Ottawa - April 3 to 9, 2016. Your Vimy week includes commemoration ceremonies to mark the Battle of Vimy Ridge. You will lay a wreath on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier; visit the Canadian War Museum and so much more.
