Open House - Tour Guides
If you are volunteering as a Tour Guide for the Open House, please come to an important meeting this WEDNESDAY, Feb. 3 at lunch in the Learning Commons. Thank you!
New Timetables
If you were absent for classes on Monday, the new timetables are available for pickup in the office.
Overdue Text Books
There is a list of overdue books (from semester 1) at the front entrance of the Learning Commons. Please check the list; text books for semester 2 will not be signed out to students with overdue books from last semester.
Hangbags for Hope
The Key Club will be collecting any gently used handbags, scarves or jewelry outside the lounge at lunch every day this week. These items will then be sold at an event outside of school with 100% of proceeds going towards Neuroblastoma Pediatric Cancer Research and to affected families on the island. Neuroblastoma is the most common cancer in infants under the age of 1.
Learning Commons – Monthly Contest
Congratulations to Nathan Brookes for winning last month's contest. Please come to the Learning Commons to claim your prize. For February's contest, you could win if you visit the Learning Commons and answer the following question: "Which book do you LOVE - one that you could read over and over again?"
Peer Tutors
Can all Peer Tutors please meet in the Learning Commons Wednesday at the start of lunch for an important meeting.

ATHLETICS
Boys Rugby
Boys rugby starts this week! Those interested in playing should make contact with Mr. Ohl in the PE Office, and attend the two practices this week: TODAY and THURSDAY after school on the main field. Regular gym strip will be fine, although cleats will be an asset! No experience required and ALL welcome.
Girls Rugby
All girls interested in playing rugby: there will be a meeting this THURSDAY at lunch in room 261 (the woodshop classroom). No experience required.

Volunteer Opportunities
Seedy Saturday- The annual community seed and garden show at the Victoria Conference Centre, seeks session monitors and enthusiastic kids’ activities volunteers. Shifts are 3.5 hours plus a one-hour pre-event orientation. Volunteers love this event! SATURDAY Feb. 20, 2016.
Headway Health Fair at the Mary Winspear Centre, SATURDAY February 27th 8:00am-10:00. 6 Volunteers are needed to help vendors set up, and sell their goods. Cashier experience an asset but not necessary.

Job Opportunity
Students Work Painting is looking for students to join their door-to-door marketing teams, offering free estimates to potential clients. They are looking for students that are interested in learning some new skills about sales and marketing. Part time employees are needed to work on average 2-4 days/nights per week, starting as soon as possible. Students can choose the shifts that work best for them and are encouraged to apply with friends. Students will be paid based on performance (commission). Looking for a summer job? Exploring a career or post secondary education? Quest for Excellence Bursary Program
RE/MAX of Western Canada has renewed the Quest for Excellence bursary program. This year they are once again offering 16 X $1,000 bursaries for a total of $16,000 to grade 12 students. This program recognizes the success and ongoing pursuits of Western Canadian students in regards to leadership and community contribution initiatives.
