ATHLETICS
BasketBall – Update and Upcoming Week
For our Junior Girls team, the season came to an end. They were probably the best team on the island when healthy and a full lineup but...for past month that wasn't to be. Major injuries and other sport commitments left a team of usually 10 players with only 4.5 players on the Saturday of the islands tourney (I say .5 as Kayleigh R was playing on a leg that is having surgery next week). Still, they were only 4 points away from winning the semi final and qualifying for BC's. The girls had a great season and really deserved better
The Senior Girls will take a few days off and then get back at it for a run at the BC Championships starting next WEDNESDAY. Placing second place on the island to a very good Oak Bay team on the night was still a job well done. They will likely be ranked in the top 10 in the province next week. Congrats to first team all stars Elle Hamilton and Calli McMillan, as well as gr 10 Sierra Reisig. Lauren Montgomery-Stinson was selected to the 2nd team and a great weekend was had by all team members!! Thanks to all staff and students who came out to support.
The Senior Boys are off to their Islands this THURSDAY in Nanaimo for a quarter final match vs host Dover Bay at 8:00 p.m. Good luck to the boys! Go Spartans!!!
