MEETINGS AT LUNCH TODAY
Best Buddies Exchange Meeting Cancelled Today

To all Best Buddies Exchange participants: TODAY's lunchtime meeting is cancelled, as Mrs. Stetson is away.

Scholarships
A reminder to any grade 12 who would like to be nominated for the $5000 BC Excellence Scholarship (based on Service and Leadership) to bring their resume and unofficial transcripts to Ms. Loukes, Room 324, at lunch TODAY at lunch at the latest.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Breakfast Club
A reminder that the Breakfast Club runs each TUESDAY and THURSDAY in the lounge before school, offering bagels and toppings for $.50 per bagel.  A yummy way to start your day!!

Fine Arts Night
Fine Arts Night is coming up next WEDNESDAY March 9.  Come see performances from Acting, Drama, Film & TV, Music, and Dance, as well as displays from our Visual Arts.  Doors open @ 6:30 pm, and the show starts at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are $5 at the door

Celebrate The Last Week Before Spring Break
Student Government is hosting a theme week next week!
MONDAY March 7th – Sports Day: Wear your favourite jersey or sports memorabilia.
TUESDAY March 8th – Twin Day: Grab a friend and dress in the same outfit.
WEDNESDAY March 9th – Camo Day: Channel you inner military fashion and wear camouflage clothing.
THURSDAY March 10th – House Colours and “Minute to Win It”: wear your house colour and come participate against other houses in the theatre at lunch in a “Minute To Win It” game.

ATHLETICS
Golf Team
For all students interested in trying out for the Claremont golf team: there is an important, but brief, meeting in the big gym TODAY at the beginning of lunch.  The first tryout is on March 9th at the Cordova Bay Golf Course. If you are unable to make the meeting, please see Mr. Ryan in the PE office.

Tennis Team

All tennis enthusiasts who want to try out for the school tennis team: please see Mr Gardner in room 327 TODAY at lunch.

CAREER CENTRE
SHAD Summer Program
Are you looking to be challenged beyond your high school curriculum, with like-minded peers? SHAD offers  opportunities for transforming exceptional youth to create global impact. SHAD is an intense program that focuses on academic learning through lectures, workshops, labs and group projects. SHAD challenges you to think outside the box. The SHAD experience starts by being fully immersed in a STEM-based (science, technology, engineering and math) learning environment for the month of July, living in residence at one of their host university campuses away from home. For students in grade 10, 11, or 12.

Job Opportunity
College Pro Painters is looking to hire students for their Painting and Marketing teams in the Central Saanich/Brentwood Bay area. Jobs are open to students in grade 10 and up! College Pro Painting Offers:
full time hours (May-August), paid training, various bonuses, outside work, and possible $5,000-$7,000 this summer!
College Pro Marketing involves door to door cold calling, asking people if they are interested in receiving a free estimate for a paint job. Perfect job for students, as the hours are flexible, and you can work as much as you want. Average is $15-$20/hr, however motivated individuals will make much more than this.  For this position, you will be given all the proper training and support.  Friends are highly encouraged to apply together and make it even more fun!  Visit the Career Centre for more information.

GRAD 2016
Grad Transition
Completed Grad Transition forms have been slowly trickling in!  Thank you to those students who have looked after completing their Grad Transition!!  Yay!  MOST have yet to be completed, though, so, please make this a priority!  30-hour work experience (or volunteer hours), Daily Physical Activity log and your transition interview! JUST. DO. IT.  Need forms? Visit the Career Centre.

Dry Grad Parent Meeting
The next Dry Grad meeting is taking place on TUESDAY March 8th at 7pm in the Learning Commons. Please come join us for an opportunity to take part in the planning process for this amazing event for our grads! Dry Grad Fundraiser: Flowers
Vesey's Bulbs features the sale of bulbs, plants and seeds from Prince Edward Island and 50% of every order goes towards the Claremont Dry Grad fundraising campaign. Cheques can be made out to Claremont Grad All Nite and completed order forms with payment can be dropped off in the front office of the school.
