DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S AWARD
There are four components to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award: Volunteer Service, Skill, Physical Activity, and Adventurous Journey. All students enrolled in the Pursuit of Excellence Program will be required to complete the Bronze Level before graduation. However, we strongly encourage and will support students to continue on and complete Silver and Gold.
Grade 9 meets on Thursday mornings at 8:00 am in rooms 324 and 325. Additional classes to work on group leadership projects are held at lunch.
Units of study include:
- Being an effective student
- Being an effective citizen and leader
- Public speaking
- Work preparation
- Leadership Projects
In addition, students start working on the Bronze level of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Program.
