DANCE AT CLAREMONT
Classes offered during the 2014-15 school year are Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Linear Intermediate and Linear Advanced. Intermediate and Advanced Dance classes are taught by Ms. Giordano and Beginner classes are taught by Ms. Linger in the Dance Studio (Room 246). Throughout the semester, students are taught technique and choreography in a variety of styles: tap, jazz, lyrical jazz, hip hop and contemporary. Students also have the chance to choreograph a piece of their own in small groups. There may be some small performance opportunities throughout the semester, but the focus of the course is working towards the Night of Dance show which takes place at the end of each semester. Dance is a fun and healthy way to spend 80 minutes of your school day, despite how little, or how much dance experience you have.
