Congratulations to the Sr. Boys Volleyball Team who placed 3rd out of 15 teams at the Camosun College Invitational tournament this past Friday/Saturday. The Spartans were third in the their pool (behind Reynolds and PCS) after Friday and were re-pooled for Saturday's matches. Claremont defeated SMUS & Oak Bay in two straight sets. In the 1/4 final Claremont defeated Timberline (Campbell River) in three sets. In the semi final the Spartans had an epic battle with # 2 ranked Seaquam (Delta) winning 25-22, losing 25-27 and then 7-15. The Spartans played solid defense and worked hard to earn their points. All players contributed to this finish and Lorenz Vogel was named to the All Star Team. (pic attached!)
The Spartans play this Wednesday at Royal Bay vs Royal Bay, Lambrick & Vic High starting at 6pm. On Friday and Saturday the Spartans will be competing in the UBC 40-Team Invitational Tournament where teams from all over BC and Alberta will be aiming for the championship title.
