GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Remembrance Day Assemblies

Next week on THURSDAY November 10th, Claremont will dedicate blocks 1 and 2 for our Remembrance Day Assemblies.  If you are interested in participating as MC, please see Mr. Westhaver by the end of day Friday. In addition, any Cadets willing to be part of the assemblies, please see Mr. Westhaver.

A camera was found in the school on Tuesday. Please come to the office to claim it.

Peer Tutoring
If you are in need of a Peer Tutor, please see Ms. Giese in the counselling office.

School Photos
There are school photos in the office for: Adrian Chlysta, Alicia Eisen, Alison Neale, Stephen Neale,
Grayson Nunn, and Ethan Phillips. Also there are school I.D. cards for many students still waiting to be picked up.  These are all from the original photo day.  Retake photos have not arrived yet.

ATHLETICS
Swim Team

Come out and support the Swim Team on SUNDAY at the Commonwealth Pool 11:00 - 4:00 for the Island Championships.  Some of the best swimmers in Canada will be competing for Claremont.

Girls Basketball Tryout
Reminder of Junior Girls Basketball tryout TODAY at 5:30   The team will be selected after the second or third tryout, so make sure to attend.

Senior Girls Volleyball Results
Congratulations to the Senior Girls Volleyball team who went undefeated on Tuesday night and won the Veteran's Cup for the second year in a row.  Thanks to all the parents and staff who made the effort to cheer on the team.

Senior Boys Volleyball Results
The Senior Boys Volleyball team finished league play last night with the Spartans winning five sets and losing 1.  Claremont defeated Spectrum (25-19, 25-17), Mt. Doug 25-08, 25-13 and split with Reynolds (27-25, 16-25).  The Spartans compete in the Georgia Strait Challenge Tournament this FRIDAY and SATURDAY at Oak Bay. Go Spartans!  Special thanks to our score keepers Kate Smith and Jenny Hwang.

CAREER CENTRE
Soldier For A Day

Last call for Soldier For A Day applications!  This SATURDAY Nov 5th, Soldier For A Day is your chance to get an inside look at all aspects of basic military concepts such as drill and dress, military equipment, weapons, vehicles, training equipment, and military rations. This program is based at the Armoury on 724 Vanalman Ave.  For students aged 15 and up.  Please see Mrs. Rhodes in the Career Centre for application forms.

GRAD 2016
Grad Assembly Today
Attention all grads: there will be an important grad assembly TODAY in block 3 (after lunch) in the theatre. Many important issues and topics about grad will be covered. If you have a spare in this block, please make arrangements to be here.

Grad 2017 Parent Info Night – Tonight
For parents/guardians of students graduating in 2017: you are invited to an information session TONIGHT 7:00-8:30 pm in Ridge Theatre.  The evening will be broken down into three sections:
Part 1 (30 min) Learn about the many details of grad year: credits needed to graduate, Grad Transition, Duel Credit and AP courses, scholarship opportunities, the parent-sponsored Dry Grad, and projected fees for Grad.  Meet members from the parent After Grad Committee
Part 2 (10min) An invitation to learn more about Mental Heath Awareness through Jack.org, with Russ and Michelle Smith.
Part 3 (40 min) University of Victoria and Camosun College representatives will share what opportunities are available after grade 12.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Vancouver Trip

The Vancouver day trip for International students is November 23rd.  Get your permission form from Brenda's door.  Completed packages are due next week on Wednesday, November 9th.
