Scholarship Meeting

The Scholarship Meeting is cancelled for TODAY at lunch.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Claremont Choir - Music Tonight

“Deck the Halls” at Saanich City Hall is happening TONIGHT from 5-8:30pm. Come enjoy the festivities as they light up the big tree. The Claremont Choir will perform from 7:30-8:00 along with Cordova Bay Elementary and Reynolds choirs.

Found
A cell phone was found in the parking lot this morning. Please come to the office to claim it.

Lost & Found Table
A table of lost & found items has been set up by the front entrance of the school.  Be sure to check to see if any of the clothes, water bottles or miscellaneous items belong to you.

Bake Sale
There will be a bake sale on TUESDAY Dec. 6th at lunch.  Bring your sweet tooth.  Money raised will support our CSI swimmers.

Claremont Reads
Congratulations to Ben Scheuer! You win this month's Claremont Reads contest. Please come by the Learning Commons to pick up your prize.

'TIS THE SEASON OF GIVING
“10,000 Tonight” Event!

On Thursday, December 15th from 5:30 to 8:30 Claremont students, parents, alumni and teachers will be going out into different parts of the community to collect canned foods and non-perishable food items to give back to the less fortunate. We hope to see you out and show some school spirit by participating in this event. Please check out the Facebook event page or the Claremont web page for more details and to sign up. Warm Clothing Drive
Youth for Change and Inclusion is starting a warm clothing drive next week. YCI will be giving your gently used warm clothes to youth at the downtown 'Out of the Rain' youth shelter. Please bring clean, warm clothes to the large box which will be outside the theatre starting Monday at lunch. Thank you for sharing warm clothes with cold youth!

CLUBS
Improv Club

The Claremont Improv Team will be performing TODAY at lunch in the theatre for all who are interested. Come and see live improvised theatre and support your classmates as they make up stories on stage for you.

Key Club Fundraiser - Locker Wrapping
The Key Club will be gift wrapping locker doors this week and next. Cost is $2 per locker.  You can have your locker or your friend's locker gift wrapped! They will be collecting locker numbers and cash at lunch outside the gym starting TODAY until TUESDAY.  Proceeds will go towards World Vision.

Key Club Fundraiser – Rice Bowls
TODAY is the final day to pre-order a rice bowl. At lunch in front of the gym, you can pre-order a rice bowl for $6 – choose from chicken, beef or tofu.  Delivery will be this TUESDAY Dec. 6Th at lunch. Money raised will go to various charities that Key Club supports. Note: there will only be pizza, baked goods and drinks in the cafeteria on Dec. 6 th when the rice bowls are delivered.

CAREER CENTRE

Technologies Exploration – Camosun
Are you interested in Computer Science, Electronic & Computer Engineering and Technology, Civil and Mechanical Engineering? Are you in grade 10-12?  Consider the Technologies Exploration course (TEAC) for February 2017. There are 19 seats available and the application deadline is this week!  This is a 4-credit course  offered in partnership with Camosun College.  Meet with one of our Claremont counsellors for more information.

Job Opportunity
A student is needed to help with garden work in Sidney: pruning bushes and cutting back wisteria vine.

Volunteer Opportunity
BC Aviation Museum Kids Fest is at the Aviation Museum in Sidney on December 27 & 28, 11-3pm.  They need lots of volunteers for this fun event to help with flight simulators, flying tables, games & craft area!  Shifts are 11:00-1:00 or 1:00-3:00. Visit the Career Centre for contact information.
