Today in class, students:
- read for USSR
- were given completion marks for Indian Horse Journal #1
- worked with a partner on a poetic devices challenge (for candy!), and then discussed the poem "Family Reunion"
- read and discussed "Thanksgiving Dinner" and "At the Wedding" - answered questions on both
- went over TONE and looked at a list of tone words
- looked over the expectations for all poem drafts
- went over the criteria and "steps" for writing their first poem - a family gathering

Homework:
Have a typed draft of your family gathering poem ready to hand in Monday and read Indian Horse - you need to be finished pages 1-73 by next Friday.
