GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Last Day to Drop Classes

Reminder to all students that this FRIDAY is the last day to drop classes to avoid receiving an “F” on a report card.  Course drop forms are available in the Career Centre.  They must be signed by a parent and returned to the office before the end of Friday.

Spartan Wear Clearout
All this week, we will be selling Spartan Wear before school in the Student Lounge (at Mr. Pereira's Help Desk). This is a clearance sale of our remaining stock. All hoodies and sweat pants will be sold for $20. Limited stock is left for sizes; there are only XXL hoodies left, and there are no S or M sweat pants left.  Please bring correct change: cash or cheque.

Free Royals Tickets
We have a large number of free tickets to see the Victoria Royals vs Prince George hockey games on Tuesday Dec 27 and Wednesday Dec 28.  To qualify for the tickets, the user must be 14 years or younger, and must be accompanied by at least one adult at the game.  Please come by the office to pick up tickets if you are interested!

Xmas Door Decorating Winners
It was a bit of a struggle picking the best two doors out of the participating creations, but the winners are:
Rooms #302 (Ms Stokes) and #321 (Ms Langdon)!  Yay!  Honourable mentions are also given to: rooms #322 (Ms Stover) and #323 (Ms Tong).  Pizza prizes will be arriving for the two winning classes in time for lunch TODAY.

'TIS THE SEASON OF GIVING
Toys For Teens – Claremont Edition

Block 1 classes will continue to collect gift cards for teenagers until this THURSDAY.  Whichever class raises the most value on their gift cards will win and get a chance to appear on the Zone 91.3 Toy Drive show on Friday, Dec 16th in Block 1 and make the donation on behalf of the school.  

“10,000 Tonight” Event
This THURSDAY, December 15th from 5:30 to 8:30pm Claremont students, parents, alumni and teachers will be going out into different parts of the community to collect canned foods and non-perishable food items to give back to the less fortunate. We hope to see you participate in this important event and show our community you care. To join “10,000 Tonight”, come to the lounge any day at lunch time and sign up. See Mr. Plant or a Senior Leadership student for more info.

Warm Clothing Drive
YCI is  still collecting warm clothes for the Victoria youth shelter until THURSDAY. If you find yourself with spare or outgrown clothes, they would be much appreciated by people less fortunate. Thanks to all those who helped fill our box last week; maybe we can fill it again this week!

CLUBS
Knitters Club – Popcorn Fundraiser

The Knitters For Charity Club will be selling Kernels Popcorn again TOMORROW (Thursday) at lunch in the student lounge.  Individual packages of flavoured popcorn will be sold for $2. All proceeds will be donated to a clothing drive to support Victoria's homeless this winter.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Festive Events – Holiday Week

Student Government continues with their festive events all this week.
Candy Grams will be sold TODAY and THURSDAY at lunch in the student lounge.  $1 each.  Send a sweet thought to your friends. Proceeds will go to the Zone 91.3 Toy Drive.
TODAY – Let's see all of those Ugly Sweaters in the contest at lunch in the student lounge today.
THURSDAY – 'Human Christmas Tree' contest at lunch in the student lounge.
FRIDAY – Santa Hat Day: wear a Santa hat, elf hat, or reindeer antlers!
FRIDAY – Candy Grams will be delivered!!!

CAREER CENTRE
Volunteer Opportunity

There are still lots of volunteers needed for the BC Aviation Museum Kids Fest, December 28 and 29, from 11:00 - 3:00 !  This is a very popular event for families during the holidays and they need help with flight simulators, games & crafts , decorating airplane cookies, flying drones and other fun stuff! Visit the Career Centre for more information.
