Claremont Swimmers Shine at Canadian World Trials
Claremont swimmers competed at Commonwealth in the Canadian World Trials on the weekend. To qualify for an individual race at the World Championships, a swimmer had to finish in the top two in a final plus beat the FINA ‘A’ qualifying time.
Some highlights:
Congratulations to Mackenzie Paddington (Gold in 400m and 800m Freestyle) who will compete for Canada at the Sr. World Championships in Budapest, Hungary this summer.
Jade Hannah (Bronze in 50m Backstroke) and Faith Knelson (Silver in 50m Breastroke, Bronze in 100m Breastroke) will compete in Indianapolis at the Jr. World Championships.
Sarah Darcel: (Bronze in 200m Breastroke, 400 IM, and 200 IM (with a World standard time)) will head to the World University Games in Taipei, Taiwan in August
Rafael Davila: Gold in 800m Freestyle, 2nd in 400m Freestyle and 1500m Freestyle
Molly Gowans: 5th in 800m Freestyle, 6th in 400m Freestyle
