Spring Music Cafe
Anyone interested in playing in the Spring Music Cafe: please contact Mrs. English by May 25th.  The Spring Cafe will be Thursday June 8th 5-7pm in the lounge.

Who Wants to Try Rowing?
To anyone interested in trying rowing: the Victoria City Rowing Club is hosting an open house TOMORROW (Saturday) from 10am-4pm. Bring your PE strip and come and try rowing at the Elk Lake boathouse for FREE. See Mr. de Leeuw in room 132 for more information.

“Just Go With It”
Claremont’s Improv Team is putting on their end-of-the-year show, “Just Go With It” next FRIDAY May 26th 7-9pm in the Ridge Theatre! This will be a showcase of improvised theatre from secondary schools across Victoria. Come see our family friendly performance and have a good laugh! Tickets by donation.

Musical Theatre Presents “Cinderella”

“Cinderella” has three final shows: 7pm TONIGHT, 7pm SATURDAY, and 2pm matinee SATURDAY.  Tickets are on sale through Mrs. Marshall in the accounting office; call 250-658-6672.   $15 Adults / $12.50 for Students/Seniors / $10 for Children 12 and under.  Open seating. This show is FUN and FUNNY!

Book Drive
Thank you for the great donations so far! The book drive continues from now until June 15th and is coordinated by the Victoria City Police Youth Council/Youth for Change and Inclusion. All books will help build a library for a downtown outreach program to support people struggling with homelessness.  Books will ideally be suitable for ages 18-30.  They can be dropped off  at the school office.   Questions can be directed to Nathan at: ycilibrarian@gmail.com

STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Beach Bash DANCE

Yes, you heard right!  Student govt is hosting a dance on THURSDAY, June 1st in the student lounge with a professional dj from 7:00-9:30pm and we want YOU to come and dance the night away with your friends!
Tickets go on sale Monday at lunch at the theatre box office and are $5 for early birds. Then they will be $7 for the last two days of sales.

ATHLETICS
Track & Field

Big congrats to Claremont's Track & Field team who put up some great results at the Island Championships this week. Lots of personal bests were had; as well, Blake Furtado, Rebecca Dutchak, Quinn Matthews, and four relay teams qualified for the Provincial Championships. Well done Spartans!"

Senior Boys Rugby
Congratulations to the Sr Boys Rugby team. Yesterday they defeated Cowichan 35-12 to secure themselves a berth to the Provincial Championships later this month. Players of the Game were: Nate Candela and Noah Jefferson.

CLUBS
Key Club Fundraiser

Do you want a chance to win a cash prize of $1500? Then come support Key Club in the lounge next week on WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY and FRIDAY to buy raffle tickets. Tickets are $5 each and proceeds go to the Kiwanis Children's Cancer Program (including BC Children's Hospital). The winner will be announced on August 15 and will be contacted.

CAREER CENTRE
Employability Skills Fair

The WorkBC & GT Hiring Solutions Employability Skills Fair is happening on Wednesday, May 31st, from 4:00- 7:00 pm at the WorkBC Employment Centre.  Free snacks and pizza will be provided!  Stop by the Career Centre to get more information.

GRAD 2017
Important Grad Reminder -Wednesday May 24th

1) All graduating students have a grad rehearsal at UVic.  You must meet in the Ridge Theatre by 8:55 a.m.
2) Grad tickets are available through UVic Ticket Centre starting at 8:30 a.m.

All Night Dry Grad
Reminder that the Dry Grad tickets ($75) need to be purchased online by going to Eventbrite.ca and searching for Claremont Dry Grad 2017.  We have an amazing all-night event planned for our Grads!  Information about the event can be found on the school website by clicking 'Parents' and then 'All Night Dry Grad'.  Details were in your Grad Package as well.  If you have any questions, please email claremontdrygrad@gmail.com

Parent/Guardian Volunteers needed at Dry Grad
Many hands are needed to make Dry Grad 2017 a fun and memorable night for our Grads!  There are many different jobs to sign up for; Decorating, Security, Casino, Clothing Collection, Clothing Transfer, Coat Check, Supervision, Carnival Game Set-up (muscles!), Carnival Game Assistants, Prize Table, and lots for Clean Up.  Sign up online by going to Claremont's website, click on 'Parents', then 'All Night Dry Grad', then 'Volunteers', then 'Volunteer Sign Up'.  It's lots of fun! Feel free to sign up for more than 1 job if the times don't overlap and encourage a friend to sign up with you!
