Meet the Teacher Night Tonight
All parents/guardians are invited to tonight's Meet the Teacher Night 6:00-8:00 pm. This is an opportunity to have a brief group meeting with classroom teachers and find out about each course: overview, marking, expectations, etc. It is very important for parents to arrive with a list of your student's class rotation, teacher names, and classroom numbers, as timetables will not be printed off for tonight. The schedule for tonight is posted on the Claremont website.

Block 1 9:00 – 10:07
Block 2 10:13 – 11:22
Lunch 11:22 – 12:08
Block 3 12:08 – 1:15
Block 4 1:21 – 2:28
Business 140 Dual Credit Course: URGENT Meeting
Did you sign up for Business 140 and/or are you interested in taking Bus 140 this year in Semester 2? There will be a very important meeting TODAY in Room 217 at lunch (Mr Bussoli's classroom) regarding Business 140 Camosun Dual Credit course. It's running this year. Come find out what's going on. This is a meeting you must attend.
Orange Shirt Day – Friday Sept 29
Claremont recognizes Orange Shirt Day TOMORROW (Friday). This is a nationally commemorated day to remember the survivors of Indian Residential Schools while affirming that all children are valued in our community. Let's show our support for reconciliation and human rights. Wearing orange helps us all to share in this important message.
Five For The Fight – Tour de Rock Fundraiser
Our Five for the Fight campaign in running from now until Oct. 6th. Bring in your $5 donation to Block 1 or make a donation at the front office. Fund-raising will end on Spartan Day (Oct. 6). Let's reach our school goal of $5000 for the Tour de Rock, who raise money for Camp Good Times for children fighting cancer.
Global Cafe
The Global Cafe is running every morning until 9:00 in the IGS room 264. $2/coffee, includes milk/sugar. This is a fund-raiser for the IGS program.

Election – Student Gov't President
Congratulations to Steven Hao on being elected to be this year's Student Government President. And congratulations to the other 4 candidates (Chase, Sophie, Emily and Paul) on your thoughtful campaigns. Claremont is in good hands with such a thoughtful and fun Student Government Executive team!

Careers in the Army Reserve
The Canadian Army Reserve is hosting an Open House this SATURDAY, Sept. 30th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ashton Armoury on Vanalman Avenue. Lunch is provided. Come find out what the Army Reserve has to offer in employment, training and grants for further education. See Mr. Arsenault in the Career Centre for more info.
Canadian Universities Event – CUE
Reminder to grade 11 & 12 students wishing to attend the Canadian Universities Event next week at Parkland School, to sign up and return permission forms by the end of TODAY. There are still a few seats available on a first come first served sign-up basis in the Career Centre.

Grad Portraits
Attention all grads: it is time to book your grad photos. Lifetouch is bringing their portable photo studio to Claremont for a limited time, starting October 10th. To book you appointment, please go to the Lifetouch website: www.lifetouch.ca/victoria. Don't put this off until later, or all of the appointments will be booked up and you will run out of time. Sitting fee of $25 is due at the time of your appointment. Information brochures are available in the school office.

Peninsula Youth Health Clinic
The Peninsula Youth Health Clinic, is located at the Ocean Pier Medical Clinic, (#207-2537 Beacon Avenue in Sidney) every THURSDAY 6-8pm. This clinic offers completely free and confidential service in the areas of physical, sexual, and mental health for youth. Walk-ins are welcome. This Youth Clinic offers a judgement-free zone for all youth and is an LGBTQ safe space. For more information, call or text 250-216-8389.
