GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Criminology 154 and AP Biology 12

For those students scheduled to take Criminology 154 and AP Biology: there is a mandatory registration meeting TODAY at lunch in computer lab 225. Please be there for this meeting as this is a very important step in the registration process with Camosun College.  

Lost
An orange Kippling pencil case has been lost.  If you have found it, please help out your fellow student and return it to the office.

ScreamFest
This year Claremont is hosting the annual Halloween event, which has run for the last 2 years at ROMS. ScreamFest is an amazing event featuring a scary haunted walk, the famous Vortex Tunnel, lots of games and activities, music, food and prizes!  It will run over two nights: Thursday, Oct. 26th and Friday, Oct. 27th. (6:30-10:00pm both nights).  Tickets are $10 and will be on sale all this week in the accounting office.

Grade 9 Immunization Forms
Grades 9's - If you missed HomeRoom last week, please come to the office to pick up your immunization forms.

School Photos & I.D. Cards
If you missed HomeRoom last week, please come to the office to pick up your school photos and I.D. cards. 

Photo Retakes
Photo retake day will be next WEDNESDAY, October 18th  in block 1.  If you missed our first photo day, or if you want to get re-takes, next Wednesday is your day.  Photo order forms are available in the office. If you are getting retakes because you don't like your original photos, you must bring your complete photo package back to the photographer. All grades need a photo for student identification; this includes all grade 12's, even if  you are having grad photos taken too.

ATHLETICS
Senior Boys Volleyball

Thanks to all the students, parents and staff that supported the Sr. Boys Volleyball team last night.  The Spartans defeated PCS 25-23, 25-23 and split with Royal Bay 26-24, 20-25.  Special thanks to Thea & Quinn Matthews for score keeping and Maddie Gregoire, Alex Babaeff, Laura Mason and Abby Phillips for being minor officials.  The Spartans host Belmont, Mt. Doug and Spectrum next WEDNESDAY, Oct. 18th so plan to attend.

Senior Girls Soccer
For all girls interested in playing on the Senior Girls Soccer team: there is an important meeting TODAY at lunch in the Big Gym.

Special Olympics Bowling.  Special Olympics BC is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to serve as head coach of their 5-pin bowling program on Tuesdays 5- 6:30pm at Miracle Lanes in Sidney.
Face Painting at a Halloween Pumpkin Carving Event October 22 – hosted by the Remax Realty Group. 4 face painters are needed – experience an asset, but not required.
Halloween Dance and Party at Lochside Elementary is looking for lots of Claremont students to volunteer at their school on Thursday, October 19th from 5:30 – 8:30pm.  Volunteers will assist with the Cupcake Walk, assorted Halloween Midway Games and ticket sales.  All volunteers will receive a free pizza dinner & cupcake.

Peninsula Youth Health Clinic – New Hours

Important: Hours have changed - The Peninsula Youth Health Clinic is now open every Thursday from 5-7pm. Walk in's are welcome, but if you are interested in booking an appointment or would like more info, call the clinic at 250-656-4114.  Location: at the Ocean Pier Medical Clinic, (#207-2537 Beacon Avenue in Sidney)   This clinic offers completely free and confidential service in the areas of physical, sexual, and mental health for youth.  This Youth Clinic offers a judgement-free zone for all youth and is an LGBTQ safe space.
