GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
OSEF Student Exchanges

Students and parents who are interested in finding out more about OSEF Individual Reciprocal Student Exchanges to France, Belgium and Spain are invited to attend a regional General Information Meeting at Claremont on TUESDAY, Nov. 21st from 6:30 - 8:00 pm!  Application forms and information booklets will be available. Merci! Gracias!

Friday Night Lights
Claremont's annual tradition of Friday Night Lights is back on FRIDAY Nov 24th.  Come before the 7:30 game start and cheer on our Sr. Lacrosse team under the lights at UVic and help us raise funds for KidSport.  Tickets will be available in advance from Lacrosse players for $3, or $5 at the gates. This annual tradition is a lot of fun.  Let's show up in our red to cheer on our team.  Play intros, a halftime dance presentation, the Claremont mascot and a concession all add up to a fun night for all.  Come show your Spartan spirit!

'Movember' Pizza Fundraiser
TODAY at lunch, Mr. Dunlop's boys PE classes will be selling pizza for $2.50 per slice in the cafeteria.  All sales will help raise money for Movember Canada, which is a Canadian charity that tackles Men's Health on a global scale. It is an amazing cause; your support is appreciated.

Report Cards
If you missed picking up your report card in Home Room on Tuesday, they are available in the office.

Photo Retakes Are in the Office
There are still many student photo packages and I.D. cards in the office, waiting to be picked up.

Great job, Claremont; we raised $300 for UNICEF last month!!  Thank you for your support.

VEX Robotics - Competition Day
The Vex Robotics Competition 1 continues TODAY; Team Blue competes at lunch time.

ATHLETICS
Junior Girls Volleyball

The Claremont Junior Girls Volleyball Red team is playing host to the 2017 Island Championships TODAY and SATURDAY in the big gym! Come out and cheer on your Spartans. At 11:00, they play mid-island rival Brentwood College, and 1:20 they take on North Island's Carihi Secondary. Go Spartans!

The Jr. Girls Volleyball Blue team won the silver pool in straight sets last night after some tough matches against Vic High and Esquimalt. They fought hard throughout the season. Great work ladies!

CAREER CENTRE
Grads/Parents Info Night for Post-Secondary Opportunities

There will be a UVic and Camosun information night  for grads/parents on THURSDAY, November 23rd, from 6:30-8:00 pm.  In addition to presentations by UVic and Camosun, representatives from Lattitude Global Volunteering, S.A.L.T.S., and the Canadian Armed Forces will be in attendance to provide information about their post secondary options.

GRAD 2018
Winter Gala Tickets

Grad class of 2018: tickets for your Winter Gala are on sale every day at lunch in the Student Lounge. The Winter Gala is a beautiful evening with a fully catered dinner and dancing to follow on Wednesday Dec. 6, 6:30-10:00 pm.  Tickets are $50.  Don't delay in getting your tickets; this event sold out last year.

Grad Transition
Congratulations to the 27 Grade 12s who have completed their GT!!  Yay!  This means there are still many more out there to do the same!  Remember to pick up your GT forms from the Career Centre and complete them while you can still arrange for your own Exit Interview!

Peninsula Youth Health Clinic – New Hours

Important: Hours have changed - The Peninsula Youth Health Clinic is now open every Thursday from 5-7pm. Walk in's are welcome, but if you are interested in booking an appointment or would like more info, call the clinic at 250-656-4114.  Location: at the Ocean Pier Medical Clinic, (#207-2537 Beacon Avenue in Sidney)   This clinic offers completely free and confidential service in the areas of physical, sexual, and mental health for youth.  This Youth Clinic offers a judgement-free zone for all youth and is an LGBTQ safe space.
