GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Toys 4 Teens

The 5th annual Toys 4 Teens Donation Drive is underway, running every day until December 12. Please donate $10 gift cards for Teens in Need in your Block 2 class. A few ideas include gift cards for: music, books, coffee shops, movies, clothing, sporting goods, cosmetics, etc.  There are lots of good ideas out there! The winning class will attend the wrap-up event at Mayfair Mall on Dec. 15. Our school goal is 1000 gift cards. This event is in collaboration with the Zone's Annual Toy Drive.  Go Spartans!

Locker Wrapping
If you would like your locker (or your friend's locker) Xmas wrapped, head over to the Key Club table to place your order: this WEDNESDAY- FRIDAY at lunch outside the large gym.  Lockers are $2.

School Bus Passes
If you are registered to ride the school bus, the bus passes have arrived.  Please come to the office to pick yours up.  New scan units have been installed on all buses by the front doors; it will be the bus riders’ responsibility to scan on and off the bus.  This scanning process will be mandatory for all registered riders.

Spain/France Trip
For students who are participating in the trip to Spain & France: reminder of the meeting TONIGHT @ 7pm in room 303.  Any questions can be directed to Ms. Harte.

PAC Breakfast Club
The Claremont PAC is now sponsoring the Breakfast Club two mornings each week: TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS before school in the student lounge. Bagels, spreads, juice boxes, and hot drinks are available. All items are FREE for students.

Board Games
“Board Game Lunch Hour” is now being offered on TUESDAYS and WEDNESDAYS.  Everyone is welcome to come play board games twice a week now at lunch in Room 215!  Bring your friends and join in on the fun! If you have any questions, please see Ms. Huber.

Lost & Found Table
There is a lost & found table set up in the front entrance for a few days, full of hoodies, shirts, jackets, shoes, water bottles, etc.  Please check to see if any items belong in your home.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Pyjama Day

This FRIDAY December 1st is Pyjama Day!  Let's kick off December wearing cozy jammies and fluffy slippers to school!

There is a VEX Robotics meeting on WEDNESDAY at lunch; details of Challenge 2 will be released.

Senior Girls 'B' Basketball

All Senior Girls 'B' Basketball players: there is an important meeting this THURSDAY at lunch in the small gym.

Junior Girls "B" Basketball practice is this WEDNESDAY right after school in the small gym.  Please see Ms. Taylor if you cannot be there for a goooood reason!

CAREER CENTRE
Job Opportunity

The Island Health Tobacco and Vapour Prevention & Control Program is hiring for Minor Test Shoppers! This is a part-time paid position, approximately $14/hour; after school and weekend shifts. Working under the direct supervision of a Tobacco & Vapour Enforcement Officer (TVEO),  Minor Test Shoppers are required to enter stores and attempt to buy tobacco or vapour products.   Visit the Career Centre for more information.

Volunteer Opportunity
The BC Aviation Museum Kids Fest needs volunteers to help out at this popular annual event! December 28 & 29, from 11:00 - 3:00 pm. Choose from two 2-hour shifts or stay the whole day!  Volunteers help with flight simulators, games and craft area.  Please visit the Career Centre for more information.

University Visits
We will have two University visits at Claremont TOMORROW (Wednesday)
University of Toronto will have rep at 8:30 a.m. in the Student Lounge; 
McGill University will have a rep here after school in the Learning Commons.

Grad Council

Members of Grad Council: there is an urgent brief meeting TODAY at the start of lunch in room 303.

Winter Gala Tickets
Class of 2018: the deadline for buying your tickets for the Winter Gala is TOMORROW (Wednesday Nov 29th.)  Tickets are on sale throughout the day in the Accounting office. The Winter Gala will be a beautiful evening with a fully catered dinner and dancing to follow on Wednesday Dec. 6, 6:30-10:00 pm.  Tickets are $50.  No tickets will be sold after Wednesday.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Whistler Trip Meeting

All International student who are going on the Whistler trip:  you must attend a meeting TODAY at lunch in the IGS Room 264.

Peninsula Youth Health Clinic – New Hours

Important: Hours have changed - The Peninsula Youth Health Clinic is now open every Thursday from 5-7pm. Walk in's are welcome, but if you are interested in booking an appointment or would like more info, call the clinic at 250-656-4114.  Location: at the Ocean Pier Medical Clinic, (#207-2537 Beacon Avenue in Sidney)   This clinic offers completely free and confidential service in the areas of physical, sexual, and mental health for youth.  This Youth Clinic offers a judgement-free zone for all youth and is an LGBTQ safe space.
