March is RESPECT Month
For the month of March, Claremont staff are going to be looking to "catch students being good". We will be keeping our eyes open for students who exemplify our Core Value of Respect. All students who are nominated will be invited to a special month-end Respect Lunch hosted by Ms. O'Brien and Mr. Hayes. Show us what R-E-S-P-E-C-T means to you!
Course Selection Forms
Reminder that the deadline to return course selection forms for next year is TODAY.
75th Anniversary of D-Day
Travel through England, France and Belgium on a military history tour of WW1 and WW2. Participate in the 75th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy. Parent information meeting on WEDNESDAY March 7th at 6pm in the Learning Commons. Students can pick up information from Mr Gardner in room 327. Forestry and Environmental Studies Opportunity
The Rotary Club of Prince George is sponsoring a unique opportunity for students interested in Forestry and Environmental Studies! Travel expenses are paid by the local Rotary Club of Sidney. Information for this May 23-27, 2018 program is available in the Career Centre. Program application deadline is March 7th!
“Annie” Is Playing Now
Claremont's Musical Theatre production of “Annie” is now playing at our Ridge Theatre. Tickets are on sale through Mrs. Marshall in the accounting office; call 250-658-6672. 7pm shows run Feb 28 - March 3, and March 7-10. Additional 1pm matinees on March 3 & 10 .Tickets are $15 Adults / $12.50 for Students/Seniors/Children 12 and under (groups of 10 or more, $12 each). Open seating. Plan early; this show is sure to sell out!!

Coast Capital Youth Intern Program
Information about the annual Coast Capital 'Youth Get It' Intern Program is now available in the Career Centre. Get paid while getting valuable work experience, financial literacy and perhaps a stepping stone to a future career!
Volunteer Opportunity
Volunteers are needed for the annual ReMax Easter Egg Hunt at Beaver Lake Park, Saturday March 31st from 8:00am to 1:00pm, to help with Face Painting, Cake Decorating, hiding Easter Eggs and more! Dressing up like a bunny is encouraged! Hot chocolate and a hot dog available to volunteers. Please sign up in the Career Centre.
S.A.T. Exam Preparation
Students planning to attend College or University in the US are required to write an S.A.T. exam before admission. St. Michael's University School is offering an SAT preparation course this Spring from March 3 - May 3. Register at www.smus.ca/satprep or visit the Career Centre for more information.
GRAD 2018
Magic Wand
The Magic Wand is a non-profit organization that offers an eco-friendly and inexpensive alternative to grad outfits for both girls and boys. The Magic Wand is for ANY grad to borrow a dress or tux, rather than buy (a small fee for cleaning is the only charge). All outfits are new or like-new, and all accessories are included. To book an appointment to view the selection of available clothes, phone 250-658-0246.
North Saanich Bursary Award- Grade 12s
The North Saanich Volunteer Firefighters Association is inviting Grade 12 students, residing in North Saanich, to apply for the 2018 Bursary Award. This award is based on the extent of community involvement by the applicant. Application deadline is May 3 2018. Application forms available outside the counselling area and in the Career Centre.
Grad Transition
Grads! Time is running out to get your Grad Transition done before the Spring Break deadline! Those who wait will be scheduled for a formal GT interview in April. Appropriate dress, cover letter and resume will be required at that time. Plan to complete your GT before the deadline with your choice of a Claremont teacher or staff member to do your interview! Grad Transition is a Grad requirement. GT forms available from the Career Centre.
Dry Grad Fundraiser - Family Portraits
Receive a Hudson Wren Black & White Portrait Gift Certificate valued at $450. The gift certificates are $100 for a weekday appointment and $150 for a weekend appointment. The entire sitting fee, $100 or $150, accordingly, will go directly to the Claremont Dry Grad 2018! Appointments are for the month of April only! Thrifty Smile Cards are available in the office for families (all grades) who would like to support Claremont's Dry Grad 2018.
Return It Bottle Depot - Dropping off bottles? Why not donate to the Claremont Dry Grad 2018 account? How? At the beginning of the transaction please state that funds are to be donated to "Claremont Grad 2018." Families of all grades are welcome to participate.

Youth Clinic
The main Victoria Youth Clinic is open to all youth and is located at 818 Douglas Street on the 3rd floor. It is open Monday to Thursday 11-5 and Friday 11-4.
