GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

3 Rs
Congratulations to the following students who were nominated for recognition for RESPECT month: Sophia B, Jessica U, Ben Mc, Gareth S, Matthew H, Marissa M, Spencer S, Shak N, Tyson S, Noah M, Wyatt Y, Fiona Mac, and Steven H. Each of these amazing students will be getting an invitation from Mr. Hayes and Ms. O'Brien to attend a RESPECT lunch next week.
Now it is time for the Spartan Nation to show its RESPONSIBILITY. April is RESPONSIBILITY month, and staff will be looking for students who exemplify the characteristics of this Core Value for nomination for April's RESPONSIBILITY lunch.  Good luck!

Spartan Wear / Grad Wear
Both Grad Wear and Spartan Wear have arrived.  Grad Wear will be handed out TODAY at lunch in the main gym.  Spartan Wear will be handed out this FRIDAY at lunch in the small gym.  Please make every effort to be here to pick up your order.

TC 10K Registration
This week is your last chance to register for the TC10K and be a part of Claremont's team. All students and staff are welcome and no experience is necessary. Register online at tc10k.ca or see Mr. Nelson in room 137 for more info.

Food Drive & Spartan Day
Chalk up the Chariot for MONDAY April 9 - THURSDAY April 12.  Please bring in donations of non-perishable food, pet food, and new personal items (soap, shampoo, diapers, etc) to Block 1 classes and fill up the chariot in the student lounge.  Spartan Day is THURSDAY April 12. Wear RED and check out Scrum Fest, the BBQ, and more!

STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Talent Show

Student Government is hosting the upcoming Spring Talent Show, to be held in the theatre every lunch period from Monday, April 9 to Thursday, April 19. That's right folks, two whole weeks of talent! The sign up sheet is posted outside the theatre, in the student lounge and in the horseshoe.  Want VIP seats? Bring a non-perishable food can for the food drive and get your choice of seating in the theatre.

CLUBS
Computer Science Club

Computer Science Club is meeting THURSDAY April 6th at lunch in Room 236 (North Computer Lab).

ATHLETICS
Track & Field

All Track & Field students: there is a meeting TODAY at lunch time in Room 326. 
The first meet is TODAY after school at UVic. You must check in with Ms. Schnieder and tell her how you are getting to the meet.

Badminton Team
There is a badminton practice TODAY after school.  Then on THURSDAY we host Mt Doug after school.

James Island Properties has several Summer 2018 job opportunities on James Island across the strait from Saanichton for Golf Course labourers, Guest Services, and Housekeeping. Transportation from a secure parking area to James Island will be provided by water taxi. Competitive starting wage at $15.00 per hour.

Adrienne's Tea Garden, at Mattick's Farm, is hiring for cashier / front end and dish washing positions!

GRAD 2018
Grad Transition

Thank you to all the grade 12s who got their GTs in to the Career Centre before the break! 
A reminder to a few students who only submitted their GT Interview form that the GT is incomplete until ALL forms are submitted!  Grad Transitions will be accepted in the Career Centre until the end of TODAY!!!

After Grad Planning 2018
The After Grad Planning Committee invites all parent/guardians of the 2018 Grad class to follow the Claremont Dry Grad Facebook page to keep informed on the planning of the All Night Grad at UVic, Thursday June 28th.

Dry Grad: Year-Long Fundraisers
Thrifty Smile Cards are available in the office for families (all grades) who would like to support Claremont's Dry Grad 2018.
Return It Bottle Depot - Dropping off bottles? Why not donate to the Claremont Dry Grad 2018 account? How?  At the beginning of the transaction please state that funds are to be donated to "Claremont Grad 2018."  Families of all grades are welcome to participate.

International Students interested in going on the Tofino Trip (May 2 & 3) - pick up a package from Brenda; they are due on Friday, April 13th.

COMMUNITY NEWS
Peninsula Youth Clinic

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.

Youth Clinic
The main Victoria Youth Clinic is open to all youth and is located at  818 Douglas Street on the 3rd floor. It is open Monday to Thursday 11-5 and Friday 11-4.
