Food Drive April 9-12
Chalk up the Chariot!!! Claremont is having a food drive from TODAY until THURSDAY April 12. Please bring in donations of non-perishable food, pet food, CASH, or new personal items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, diapers, etc) to Block 1 classes and fill up the chariot in the student lounge.
Spartan Day
Spartan Day is THURSDAY April 12. Wear RED and check out Scrum Fest, the BBQ, and more!
Scrum Fest
Claremont is hosting our 10th annual Spartan Scrum Fest rugby tournament this week from THURSDAY-SATURDAY. This is the largest exhibition high school rugby tournament in western Canada. The games will be running on both Claremont fields all day for all three days. Game schedules will be posted around the school. We will have our concession tent up and running with burgers, chips, drinks, etc. The cafeteria will be closed during the event.
Rugby players, please remember to communicate with your teachers regarding your games and volunteer shifts. Also, don't forget to record your volunteer shifts on the sign-up sheet by the PE Office.
The class schedule is altered for THURSDAY April 12th (Spartan Day) so that Claremont students and staff can show our school spirit, support the opening ceremonies and watch some great Spartans rugby. Wear RED:

Talent Show
The Spring Talent Show is happening every lunch time from TODAY until THURSDAY April 19. Come to the theatre to watch two whole weeks of talent! The sign-up sheet is posted outside the theatre, in the student lounge and in the horseshoe. Please make sure you have contacted Steven Hao if you put your name on the list; his cell phone # is on the sign-up sheet. Want VIP seats? Bring a non-perishable food can for the food drive and get your choice of seating in the theatre.

Claremont Western Night
Come and watch the Claremont swimmers compete with the best in the west! FRIDAY, April 13 @ 6:00 pm at the Saanich Commonwealth Pool. Wear your Claremont gear or show your Claremont student card and get in free. There will be draw prizes for Claremont students throughout the night; just fill out your ballot at the door. Bonus: if you wear a cowboy hat, you get 2 ballots!!!

GRAD 2018
Mandatory Grad Assembly
All grade 12's are required to attend a grad assembly this week on WEDNESDAY April 11 in block 1 (9:30-10:15). This assembly will provide all details about graduation: how to know if you are eligible to cross the stage, criteria for completion of courses at SIDES or ILC, grad ceremony, grad dinner/dance, All Nite Dry Grad, how to get TICKETS (and how many tickets), deadlines, and all of the necessary paperwork. If you have a spare or if you are not usually at Claremont for block 1, it is essential that you make arrangements to attend this important assembly.
Scholarship Meeting TODAY
There will be a scholarship meeting TODAY at lunch in room 327 ( Mr. Gardner's room) regarding District Authority and District Awards. For all those grade 12s interested in scholarship money, please attend.
After Grad Planning 2018
The After Grad Planning Committee invites all parent/guardians of the 2018 Grad class to follow the Claremont Dry Grad Facebook page to keep informed on the planning of the All Night Grad at UVic, Thursday June 28th.
Dry Grad Meeting - Tuesday April 10
Are you the parent of a Grade 12 student? We'd love to share our plans for Dry Grad 2018 with you! Please join us at the Parent After Grad Committee meeting TOMORROW (Tuesday April 10) at 7pm, in the Claremont Learning Commons. Parents of all grades are invited. We'd love to see everyone! We're excited to share the plans that we've made, and to let you know the areas in which we need assistance.
If your student is on the Grade 12 Grad Executive Committee, please ask them to join us, as we would love their input on what we have so far.
Dry Grad Fundraiser – 50/50 Raffle
The Parent After Grad Committee is having a 50/50 Raffle. Tickets are $5 each. Deadline for sales is May 3rd. Brenda Chan, PAC Chair, will draw the winning ticket on May 8th at the Dry Grad Committee Meeting. If grads or parents would like to sell tickets, they are distributed in books of 10 and can be picked up from Lisa Wergeland. Please contact her at ohmysoul@shaw.ca
We have a gaming licence to sell $18,000 worth of tickets. Students 13 & older may sell and purchase tickets. Potential winnings are based solely on sales; one prize, half of the ticket sales. Good luck!

Return It Bottle Depot - Dropping off bottles? Why not donate to the Claremont Dry Grad 2018 account? How? At the beginning of the transaction please state that funds are to be donated to "Claremont Grad 2018." Families of all grades are welcome to participate.

Peninsula Youth Clinic
The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.
Youth Clinic
The main Victoria Youth Clinic is open to all youth and is located at 818 Douglas Street on the 3rd floor. It is open Monday to Thursday 11-5 and Friday 11-4.
