A cell phone was found in the school yesterday.  Please come to the office to claim it.

‘Sports Performance: Basketball’ Class
For all the grade 10 to 12 students in the 'Sports Performance: Basketball' class: you have a mandatory meeting TODAY at lunch in the big gym.

School Forms
Reminder to please return your school forms to your HomeRoom this week (student demographics, locker selection, Google Accounts, Student fees.

Course Change Request Forms
All requests for course changes must be submitted to the office on a Course Change Request Form.  These can be picked up in the Learning Commons and must be submitted to the office before the end on Monday Sept. 10th.

Lunch at the Cafeteria
Pizza will be for sale at the cafeteria TODAY and all of next week.  Starting Monday Sept 17, lunchtime cafeteria will be fully running with a range of sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, and sweets.

CLUBS
There are lots of clubs to get involved with at Claremont.  Information coming soon!

Best Buddies – Intro Meeting
Are you friendly and caring? Are you interested in being a friend to a student with disabilities?  For all students interested in being a Peer Buddy at Best Buddies, there will be a very important meeting on MONDAY at lunch in room 312. See Mrs. Stetson in the IST office for more information.

Fall Sports - Teams, Tryouts & Practices
For any and all questions regarding school Athletics and teams, please see Mr Reisig in the PE Office or see the coaches listed below.


Girls Field Hockey (Ms. Taylor ) -  see Ms Taylor for practice times next week.  
Jr Girls Volleyball (Mr Freeburn/Mr Ryan) – tryouts continue TODAY 3:00-4:30 in the big gym. There will be an A and B team.  Practice is MONDAY 3:45-5:25 in the small gym and THURSDAY 3:45-5:25 in the main gym,
Sr Girls Volleyball (Mr Freeburn/Mr Phillips) - tryouts continue on MONDAY at 5:30 pm in the small gym.  Practice is MONDAY 5:30-7:15 in the small gym and THURSDAY 5:30-7:15 pm in the main gym.
Jr Boys Volleyball (coach TBA) – tryouts THURSDAY 3:45-5:25 pm in the small gym.  Practice MONDAY 3:45-5:25 in the main gym.
Sr Boys Volleyball  (Mr Ryan) - tryouts continue on MONDAY at 5:30 pm in the main gym. Practice MONDAY 5:30-7:15  and THURSDAY 5:30-7:15 pm in the main gym.
Sr Boys Soccer  (Ms Yager/Mr Ravenhill) – meeting on TUESDAY at lunch in the small gym; tryouts next THURSDAY after school.
Jr Boys Soccer
  (Mr Mitchell/Mr. Earnshaw) - for all interested gr 9/10 boys, meeting TODAY at lunch in Rm 264, and tryouts on MONDAY and TUESDAY after school on school fields.
Cross Country  (Mr Nelson) –  If you would like to be part of Claremont's cross country team there is an important meeting on MONDAY at lunch in Mr. Nelson's room (Rm 137).
Rowing  (Mr Peacock) - for all students (non CSI) - meeting TODAY at lunch in the small gym; swim test TODAY after school.

Food Safe Level 1  - Friday, October 19th, 2018 - (Pro-D Day)- 8:30 am to 4:30 pm - at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney - 10030 Resthaven Drive - Cost is $50. Food Safe is useful for anyone working or wishing to work in the food service, food retail, or food processing industries. You will learn how to handle food safely in order to prevent food from being contaminated.
Alert First Aid with CPR "C" & AED - Saturday, October 20th, 2018 - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. Cost is $50.
Retail Training - *FREE* - This certificate program prepares you for first time work experiences in retail & many other work environments. You will be treated as an employee & you will be working alongside a busy team of staff members. This is a full day commitment on Sundays for 4 weeks each month. Train in working a cash register & counting cash, customer service, creating displays and more! Brentwood Bay and Sidney locations.
