GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
School Forms

Reminder to please return all outstanding school forms to the office this week (student demographics, locker selection, Google Accounts, Student fees.

Course Change Request Forms
All requests for course changes must be submitted to the office on a Course Change Request Form.  These can be picked up in the Learning Commons and must be submitted to the office before the end of TODAY.

Photo Day
Photo Day is this THURSDAY Sept 13th in blocks 1 and 2.  Purchasing photos is optional, but all students in all grades need to have school photos taken, for school identification purposes (grade 12’s too - even if you are having grad photos taken later).  Order forms are available in the office.  There is also an option to order photos on the Lifetouch website; the office also has those order forms.

Careers and Life Education (CLE) Online
Would all students signed up for Careers and Life Education 10 ONLINE please see Mrs. Marshall in room 336 to get start-up information.

Lunch at the Cafeteria
Pizza will be for sale at the cafeteria all this week.  Starting next Monday, lunchtime cafeteria will be fully running with a range of sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, and sweets.

CLUBS
Best Buddies – Intro Meeting TODAY

Are you friendly and caring? Are you interested in being a friend to a student with disabilities?  For all students interested in being a Peer Buddy at Best Buddies, there will be a very important meeting TODAY at lunch in room 312. See Mrs. Stetson in the IST office for more information.

Vex Robotics
Any students interested in learning about Claremont's VEX Robotics club is asked to attend a meeting this WEDNESDAY at lunch in room 220. No previous robotics experience is necessary.

Key Club
If you want to get your service hours, help people and make new friends, come check out the first Key Club meeting this THURSDAY at lunch in Ms. Pang's room (room 135).

Math Club
For anyone who is potentially interested in writing Math contests this year, please have a look at the contest board outside room 133, or come speak to Mr. Skanks in room 130.  There will be no Math Club this week, but listen for information for next week.

ATHLETICS
Fall Sports - Teams and Tryouts

For any and all questions regarding school Athletics and teams, please see Mr Reisig in the PE Office or see the coaches listed below.
Cross Country (Mr Nelson) –  If you would like to be part of Claremont's cross country team there is an important meeting TODAY at lunch in Mr. Nelson's room (Rm 137).
Girls Field Hockey (Ms. Taylor ) -  all girls interested in playing field hockey, practice is TODAY and WEDNESDAY right after school.  
Jr Girls Volleyball (Mr Freeburn/Mr Ryan) –  Practice is TODAY 3:45-5:25 in the small gym and THURSDAY 3:45-5:25 in the main gym,
Sr Girls Volleyball (Mr Freeburn/Mr Phillips) - tryouts continue TODAY at 5:30 pm in the small gym and practice is THURSDAY 5:30-7:15 pm in the main gym.
Jr Boys Volleyball (coach TBA) –  Practice TODAY 3:45-5:25 in the main gym.
Sr Boys Volleyball (Mr Ryan) - tryouts continue TODAY at 5:30 – 7:15 pm in the main gym. Practice continues THURSDAY 5:30-7:15 pm in the main gym.
Sr Boys Soccer - (Ms Yager/Mr Ravenhill) – meeting on TUESDAY at lunch in the small gym; tryouts this THURSDAY after school.
Jr Boys Soccer (Mr Mitchell/Mr. Earnshaw) -  tryouts TODAY and TUESDAY after school on school fields.
Rowing (Mr Peacock) – see Mr Peacock for further information.

Training Opportunities
Please come to the Career Centre, room 235,  for information about these opportunities.
Food Safe Level 1  - Friday, October 19th, 2018 - (Pro-D Day)- 8:30 am to 4:30 pm - at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney - 10030 Resthaven Drive - Cost is $50. Food Safe is useful for anyone working or wishing to work in the food service, food retail, or food processing industries. You will learn how to handle food safely in order to prevent food from being contaminated.
Retail Training - *FREE* - This certificate program prepares you for first time work experiences in retail & many other work environments. You will be treated as an employee & you will be working alongside a busy team of staff members. This is a full day commitment on Sundays for 4 weeks each month. Train in working a cash register & counting cash, customer service, creating displays and more! Brentwood Bay and Sidney locations.
Alert First Aid with CPR "C" & AED - Saturday, October 20th, 2018 - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. Cost is $50.
