AP Physics Meeting

Any AP Physics students participating in the Physics Olympics are required to meet TOMORROW (Friday) at lunch in Room 133.

Report Cards
Report cards will be handed out next week on TUESDAY Nov 20 in Home Room.  Timing for Home Room will be determined shortly.

Learning Commons

Spirit Squad's next theme day is Pyjama Day TOMORROW (Friday).   Wear your coziest pjs and get a free hot chocolate at lunch in the lounge.

Jr and Sr Girls Basketball

Jr Girls A and Sr girls A basketball teams: practice times have changed tonight. There will be a joint practice TONIGHT from 7:00-8:30 pm.

Jr Boys B Basketball
There will be a Jr Boys B Basketball practice TONIGHT from 7:00-8:45 in the small gym .  It is very important to attend as final team selection is impending. Please see Mr Reisig or Mr Neufeld if you can not attend.

Sr. Boys Volleyball
The Sr. Boys "AAA" Volleyball Island Championships are this FRIDAY and SATURDAY at Claremont. We would like to invite classes down to support and cheer for your Spartans. On Friday, Claremont plays in the main gym at:
1:15pm vs Belmont
3:45pm vs Royal Bay
6:15pm vs Dover Bay.

The action continues on Saturday at 10am with the gold medal match at 4:30pm.  We are looking for scorekeepers and people to line each game in both gyms during Friday and Saturday. If you are interested in helping out, please see Mr. Ryan in the PE office asap. Thanks!

US Day 2018

UX Day is an opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to learn more about the great programs available for youth interested in science & technology on Southern Vancouver Island.  This event is taking place on Saturday, December 1st, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the UVic ECS Building. The SHOAL Centre in Sidney is looking to hire a few energetic students to help at the many Christmas events that are booked during the Christmas Season this year. Duties include: serving, clearing and dish washing. Shifts will be 4 hours from approximately 5:00pm to 9:00pm. $17.00/hour. Qualifications: Food Safe & WHIMIS (you can do these online), plus eagerness to learn about working events, kitchen and serving.

A retiree living in North Saanich is looking for weekend help with outdoor garden work: resetting patio paving stones, spreading bark mulch & general garden maintenance. 6 to 8 hours daily Saturdays and Sundays for 1-3 months or until the job is complete @ 15.00 to $20.00 an hour. Some heavy lifting required. Help with transportation available if required. 

Long-term, Saturday outdoor/gardening job opportunity. Strong student needed for help with general garden maintenance: some shovelling, wheel-barrowing, weeding, raking etc. 3-4 hours each time @ $13 per hour. Located north end of Elk Lake.

Parents As Career Coaches - TONIGHT
COPACS and the Saanich School District proudly invite you to attend a free seminar for parents: TONIGHT @ 6:30 pm at Stelly's Secondary School.  Capilano University instructor, Marion Haythorne, will be leading the workshop helping parents learn how to help their children make sound educational decisions and career choices.

Calling all bookworms: Sidney & Peninsula Literary Festival is having Jack Knox speak and they need some volunteer help @ SHOAL Centre, November 23, 6:30 – 9:30 pm. Three volunteers to help with tickets, welcome people at the door, and assist with new memberships.

Lions Club Breakfast with Santa @ Mary Winspear Centre, December 1. Put on your Santa hats! The Lions cook the food and we serve it to the bright eyed young families who come to tell Santa how good they have been and what they want for Christmas.

SHOAL Centre Bridge Club Dinner and Banquet: December 5. Students who are looking for serving and/or banquet experience or just wanting it get in the Christmas spirit will love this event. 2 volunteers needed.

Sidney Aviation Museum Open House, December 28th. This event is so much fun! Families come to the museum to see the antique planes and participate in activities such as: paper airplane making, crafts, aircraft carrier demonstration, flight simulators and this year’s new flying maze. Student volunteers support all these activities!

GRAD 2019
Winter Gala Tickets

Winter Gala tickets are for sale this week in the Accounting office. Each $50 ticket includes a formal dinner, dessert and DJ dance. Cash, cheques, debit and credit cards are all accepted. 

Grad Wear
This is the final week to order 2019 Grad Wear!  Clothing order forms are available at the main office or the accounting office.  Forms and payment are to be returned to the Accounting office – deadline is this Friday Nov. 16.

Grad Transition
Reminder to grads that GT is a graduation requirement.  Pick up your forms from the Career Centre and interview with your favourite teacher!

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.
