Please welcome Ms. De Klerk as the new VP at Claremont!!  Ms. De Klerk comes to us from North Saanich Middle School, so many students will recognize her.  If you see Ms. De Klerk in the hallways, please be sure to give her a Spartan welcome and introduce yourselves.

Lost!
A cell phone fell off the car roof somewhere between Claremont Secondary, Haliburton Road and Pat Bay Hwy (possibly at the turn onto the hwy). It had a VGH sticker with name and address on the back. Please call 250-818-5922 if found.

Parents – After School Pick-ups
Reminder to parents, when you are picking up students at the end of the day to please be mindful of the small cul-de-sacs close by the school, and to not block driveways.  Presently, the neighbours on Arsenault Place are experiencing a large volume of cars congesting their street after school.

ATHLETICS
Curling Team

Shout-out to the Claremont Curling teams! Both the boys and girls teams competed in the 2019 Island Championships this past weekend.  While neither team walked away with hardware, both teams had an invaluable experience competing against the Island's best; both teams played well and made some incredible shots before falling short to the more experienced teams. They showed great heart, sportsmanship and teamwork. Go Spartans!

Jr Girls Basketball
This past weekend, the Junior Girls’ Basketball team competed on the mainland at the Riverside Secondary Tournament, finishing 3rd.  All of the girls battled hard against some stiff competition.  They beat South Delta in OT in their first game, with Charlotte Westhaver earning the Player of the Game. Riverside got the better of us in our second game, with Holly Dodds earning the Player of the Game. Finally, the girls beat Walnut Grove to finish 3rd, with Kate Brooks earning the Player of the Game. Go Spartans!
